This eye catching, truly vintage, 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster Replica is virtually like brand new and is an absolute blast to drive. Barely broken in with just under 450 miles!!! That's correct, I did say Replica, but not just any replica. This Speedster was hand built by Vintage Speedsters out of California, the #1 Builder of Porsche Speedster Replicas. They have built roughly 90% of all the Porsche Speedster replicas on the market and their quality is top notch!! They use a custom built, jig welded 2x4" 11 gauge steel frame. This rigid new structure retains the original VW pan designed by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche and integrates the largest frame possible. In addition the steering wheel is offset slightly just as it was in the originals. While the original Speedsters are certainly a rare breed, these Vintage Speedster replicas are rare in their now right with roughly only 3000 built.
This particular Black Beauty was built in late 2012 for a gentleman who had actually owned 2 others over the years. He ordered this one after his 911 Slant Nose was destroyed in a storm. As you will see he checked off just about every option that was available when he ordered this one. Amazingly in the 3 plus years he owned it he only managed to put a little over 400 miles on it. He would only drive it on sunny spring and summer days for quick local drives. But, between running a large company and enjoying other toys he realized he was not driving it enough to keep so he decided it was time to pass this one on to the next lucky owner...maybe you! I have now owned 11 of these Porsche Speedster Replicas, 10 of which were made by Vintage and one from Beck. I have grown very fond of these cars and personally prefer the Vintage build as it accommodates a taller driver better. I am 6 ft. tall and found the Beck to be better suited for drivers under 5 ft 10. Fit and finish on these Vintage Speedsters is outstanding and most people could not tell the difference between this and the real deal. In fact, an avid car collector in Florida bought one from me last winter and took it to a gathering of his car buddies some of whom were Porsche fanatics and it was not until he was getting ready to leave that he told them it was a replica. They were blown away as they thought it was the real deal. For about 1/10th the price of the real deal you can own this beauty and drive and enjoy it without worrying. These Vintage Speedsters really drive out great and handle the road wonderfully. This would definitely be a great addition to any car guy or gals collection, or the perfect unique sports car for a first timer and a great investment that can be driven anywhere as well as taken to the car shows and cruise-ins. The Body on this Black Porsche Speedster is near flawless. The car was pampered by a serious car guy who not only kept the car garaged at all times but also kept a custom cover on it. Body panel fit is fantastic and the doors on this car open and shut like a new Porsche. Everyone who looks at the car is extremely impressed with the fit and finish. Asyou will see in the pictures below the paint has beautiful luster and reflection and the body is extremely straight. It was a beautiful sunny day and the curves of the body had the sun dancing so if you see any white spots they are merely reflections from the sun. The only flaw I noticed was a small chip under the drivers door handle that had been touched up. You would probably never notice it if I did not mention it. There might be another extremely tiny rock chipsomewhere that I missed but overall the car looks amazing. All of the chrome trim and badges look new. As you will see this Speedster was ordered with optional driving/foglights, front and rear bumper guards, headlight grille guards, luggage rack, Custom Coachwork badge, and passenger side mirror. Although the best way to enjoy this beautiful Speedster is with the top down, it is also nice to know that, if needed, this Speedster also has a like new matching black convertible top that is easy to put up or down. There are also side window inserts to seal up the cabin. When the top is down you have a great looking black boot cover for a very clean look. Hard to beat the Black and red color combination and this little Speedster looks pretty darn cool with the top up too. Check it out:

I also have a very rare, optional matching Hard Top that can be negotiated in to the purchase but IS NOT included in this auction. I have actually never seen another Speedster with this option and it a very cool Hard Top for someone in a cooler climate that intends on driving this car year round. On the other hand, I find most folks buy these awesome Speedsters to enjoy them with the top down so a Hard Top would never get used and only take up garage space. Therefore I am picturing it here but it IS NOT part of this auction but if the buyer of this car would like the Hard Top we can negotiate a price for it. It goes on quite easily with 2 people and seals up nicely. There is a separate set of window inserts that fit when the hard top is on. It also has a nice stand and cover for when it is not in use. The lipstick red interior compliments the black exterior beautifully and the front seats are nicely accented with black piping. The interior is basically flawless and drop dead gorgeous. Simplistic sophistication is the best way to describe the layout of the interior. Very comfortable and supportive bucket seats are exactly like the originals. There is a rear seat pad but I think it is more like a storage area than a seat. Shifter boot and emergency brake are accented in red. Heater controls by the e-brake work correctly when needed. An awesome, vintage looking stereo is neatly mounted under the dash and is actually digital. Speakers neatly installed in the door panels. There is a 12v charging outlet under the dash as well. Beautiful woodgrain steering wheel and a great set of gauges with tach. All of the gauges, lights etc works as they should. Finishing off the interior are a great set of Black/Red Cocoa floor mats. Now is a great time to remind you that this Speedster has under 450 miles!!!! This is the 11th Speedster I have owned so I knew how much fun this one would be to drive when it arrived. However, I admit when I bought the first one I was skeptical about whether these cars would be as enjoyable to drive as they were to look at. Well, after driving that first one I was hooked and immediately a fan. Barely broken in with just over 420 miles on it this one drives fantastic as expected. It has a serious fun factor and this particular one was ordered with the upgraded 1915cc motor with dual carburetors. As you will see the engine compartment is clean as could be and this one also has the optional external oil filter. Mated to the speedy little 1915cc motor is the 3.88 freeway flyer 4-speed transmission which makes this Speedster as much fun on the highway as it is around town or through the windy mountain roads. It shifts smoothly and gets up to speed with ease and sounds great doing it. Upgraded front disc brakes stop this lightweight roadster with ease. This Speedster really handles the road well. Maintenance is cheap and easy on this car and any foreign car mechanic should be able to do a valve adjustment and tune-up every 3-4,000 miles when needed to keep it running great. Beautiful chrome wheels adorned with Porsche crested chrome hub caps wrapped in like new set of radials. There is nothing this Speedster needs but you in the drivers seat. Make sure you listen to the video that follows to hear it start up and running. Of course the undercarriage looks great and is rock solid and nicely detailed. Inside the front trunk area is nicely carpeted and a battery cut off switch and trickle charger are included. There is also a great custom fit, black cover that will be included.
