Possibly the Nicest Corniche Available Today!! |
Greetings to All!! imotors is quite pleased to offer possibly the nicest 1985 Corniche II Available anywhere! 1985 was the first Model Year for the Corniche II. It has the newer style gauge layout, seat belt extenders, and updated rear lighting. I get weak in the knees when one like this becomes available. A basically One lady owned, always Dealer serviced Rolls Royce that was apparently treated like one of the family! Examples like this one are unheard of! Most have over 100 Thousand miles by now, and are still going strong.
We purchased the Gorgeous example from a fellow in Texas, who helped a friend. It had been sitting for a bit, and they decided it was time to move on. It was originally a European Spec car that was sold new to Germany, and imported here to the states. There are many unique features that US spec cars did not receive. Most notably are the headlamp wipers, foglamps, and the front lower air dam! The previous lady owner and her husband purchased it in 1994. During their stewardship, 99% of the service was performed at the local Rolls Royce/Bentley dealer until our acquisition about 3 months ago. We have all of the repair orders, documenting excellent care and service.
The speedometer head was replaced in June of 2000 with 14,476 miles due to a non-flashing right turn signal indicator(Picture of the repair order is below). It now shows about 9600 miles, indicating a total of about 24,000. While we assume the mileage could be accurate, or close, and have extensive documentation(Including Carfax and Autocheck reports), we have no way to verify it. It will be sold with a clean Pa.title in the dealership's name that reads "Exempt" for mileage.
The exterior is just beautiful, with no signs of weather, or accident damage. The Acrylic White paint is bright and shiny, as is all of the chrome and brightwork!! The white Everflex top is also in great condition, as is the rear plastic window.
The white leather interior is just breathtaking!! It has been completely re-dyed to freshen it's appearance. There are no rips, cracks, or tears. The wood is also in nice shape, with some seatbelt nicks to the doors, and some light cracking to the urethane clear on the dash. All very common on a 35 year old Rolls Royce. There was a tear in the headcloth on the right rear. We had it expertly repaired, and it is hardly noticeable. There are detailed photos below. All of the electrics are working correctly, including the windows and seats. The Air Conditioning blows nice and cold. Even the cruise control is working, which is basically unheard of!!
Our 1985 Corniche II runs and drives fantastic!!!! I've been "Test Dring" it for several hundred miles, and it has been sheer heaven!! We've just performed a fresh oil change with Castrol GTX 20/50W. We've also just installed 2 fresh brake spheres to ensure safe braking. The tyres are Michelin whitewall radials that are very old. They are not weather checked, or dry rotted at all, however we strongly recommend replacement due to age!! Estimated tire life is 8-10 years. These are much older!
Personal inspections are welcomed and encouraged!!! We will be available anytime during auctions course, except July 31-Aug 3. Any and all questions will be quickly and cheerfully answered.
Take a look at the 110 photographs below and see the actual pristine condition of this One of A Kind Rolls Royce Corniche II.
