1960 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud Description

1960 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II "Touring Edition." Ground up professional build to a very high standard that left no bolt unturned or any detail overlooked. The gentleman who restored/ built this Classic Rolls loved the elegant look of the car but wanted more. Specifically he wanted more power, reliability, modern conveniences, and far better handling and braking capability.
Starting with an all original car in need of restoration he stripped it to bare metal, both rocker panels were professionally replaced and spot welded as factory. The Show quality Paint and body was refinished by a local custom paint shop. The highest quality RM 2 stage paint products were used. Top shade is called Silver See and the lower is Almandine Black Metallic. The car has "Oxblood" Hand Pinstripes separating colors and accenting the body and wheel covers. This rolls is super straight with excellent door, hood, and trunk fitment. It has been fully sanded and buffed to a mirror like finish. All exterior chrome and stainless brightwork were refinished to show quality. All seals and weatherstrips were replaced with new.
The interior was refinished completely to stock appearance with the exception of a custom dashboard that houses the "Classic Instruments" Gauges and "Vintage Air" AC and heat controls. All doors were upgraded with modern power window units. The complete wiring harness was replaced with a "Ron Francis" panel that uses modern fuses. The stereo looks vintage but its actually a modern "Retrosound" unit that has AM/ FM with USB/SD and MP3 playback. The stock Column was modified for the power rack and Pinion steering as well as the shift capability of the modern 4L60 automatic transmission. There is also a gear indicator gauge located on the dash as well as blinker and Hi Beam indicator lights. All of the wood has been beautifully refinished throughout.
The Chassis was upgraded with a front crossmember from Heidts that utilizes tubular control arms and power rack and pinion steering with a heavy duty sway bar. The rear differential is a Heavy Duty Ford 9" from "Currie Enterprises." All 4 wheels have power disc brakes. Custom rims were fitted and the Hubcaps were modified to attach to the new wheels.
a GM Crate 5.7 liter engine producing 300HP with Holley "Sniper" electronic fuel injection and electronic ignition. All of the accessories run on a Serpentine belt. The engine is backed by a 4L60 4 speed automatic overdrive transmission. This Rolls is quite a bit faster than original! Cruises effortlessly at Highway speeds. This Unique Rolls Has just over 12,000 pampered miles on the build.
This Rolls Royce is truly the best of both worlds. The elegant look of the classic Rolls Silver Shadow but with a reliable and powerful drivetrain any mechanic can service. It is truly a pleasure to drive.
