See Mark Ashcraft Dot Com ( Saab V4 Parts & Restoration ).
The Car Enjoyed A -Complete- Mechanical Restoration,
Extensive Frame & Sheet Metal Repairs
And A Long List Of Performance Upgrades
Including Transmission Rebuild,
And Engine Rebuild To High Performance.
Original -4- Speed 1700cc V4 Engine
Performance Tuned To 130 HP, Per Mark Ashcraft Build Notes
( Stock / Factory Was 73 HP ).
—> For Reference, A Porsche 912 Was Powered By 1582cc With 90 HP.
Early 911's Had 128 HP. About The Same As This 73 Saab 95.
Additional Upgrades Include Gas Shocks,
High Performance Stainless Steel Headers,
And New Pipes / Mufflers / Borla Exhaust System.
Mechanical Parts Also Replaced Or Rebuilt By Mark Ashcraft:
CoilVoltage RegulatorWindshield Wipers & MotorDistributorAlternatorStarter
Mark Ashcraft Also Installed A -Dual- Electric Radiator Fan Kit
As 96’s / 95’s Are Known For Not Being Super Happy In Warm Climate US, Versus Cooler Climate Sweden.
Therefore, Dual Fans Are Fitted For Better Cooling, As An Upgrade Versus The 1 Factory / Stock Fan.
Neither Fan Of The 2 Fans Now Installed Are Particularly Necessary In The Cool SF Climate Where I Live / Where The Car Lives Presently,
Though I Do Use 1 Fan Whenever The Heat Gauge Reaches Mid-Level.
Both Fans Can Be Manually Operated From Dash Switches In The Cabin.
The Engine Does Not Get Hot In The SF Climate. Not Even Close. Your Climate May Vary.
Dual Fans Are Mentioned To Reference The Body Modification Necessary To Achieve Sufficient Space For Dual Fans.
Mark Ashcraft Extended The Front / Hood Of The Car 3 Inches To Accommodate.
Many Detailed Extension Images Are Included Among The 1000+ Images Prevailing Buyer Will Receive.
Hood Extension / Body Image Also Included Here Among The Listing Images Attached.
Consider The Hood Extension A Factory-Quality Upgrade For The US Market
So Engine Overheating Doesn’t Occur.
Perhaps There Are So Few 96’s & 95’s On The Road In The US,
Due To Overheated / Ruined Engines Over The Years
From Insufficient Engine Cooling.
Problem Solved In This Case
By Longtime Saab Wizard Mark Ashcraft.
Car Needs Nothing Presently To Enjoy.
Car Starts Easy Enough ( Never Stranded Me / Never Did Not Start / Never Needed Emergency Tow, etc )
Runs & Drives Very Well.
Stops Very Well.
Very Good Suspension & Handling.
Car Feels Great Behind The Wheel
With Extra Nice High Performance Zest.
Exhaust Note Is Sublime / Perfect.
Car Has Zero Rust Anywhere. None Whatsoever.
100% Perfect / Pristine Soccer Ball Wheels.
Good Original Glass, Other Than 1 Very Small Windshield Star.
Good Chrome, Other Than 2 Spots Of Chrome Flaking. Left Front Bumper. Right Rear Bumper.
Original Color Verona Green Paint ( Color Code GN8H ).
Car Has Enjoyed A Quality Respray And Looks Very Good
Other Than Some Mismatching Verona Green Paint
(Saab Factory Verona Green Came In 2 Similar But Different Colors — GN8H & GN9H — See Factory Paint Color Sheet Attached ).
Interior Presents In Very Good Original / Survivor Condition
With A Few Aftermarket Gauges ( 3 Lower Left Under Dash -- Battery, Vacuum, & Oil Pressure, + Dash Tachometer ).
Seats Are Good.
Door Panels Are Good. Chrome Flaking On Interior Door Panel Trim.
Steering Wheel Has No Splits Or Cracks And Is Covered.
All Lights / Signals Work.
Dash Illumination Works.
Clock Works, As Does It’s Illumination.
Dash Is Not Original To The Car, And Is Flawless.
Aftermarket Radio Not Connected.
If Purchasing The Car,
Would Recommend Aftermarket Radio Removal
Perhaps Replacing With Period / Vintage Saab Bendix Radio Or Other Period Correct Saab Radio.
Very Few Minor Cosmetic / Aesthetic Issues.
• Mild Flaking Of Bumper Chrome In 2 Places, As Mentioned• A Few Paint Imperfections( As Mentioned, Saab Factory Verona Green Came In 2 Similar But Different Colors, Oddly — See Factory Paint Color Sheet Attached )• 1 Small Tear In Otherwise Perfect Headliner• Passenger Door Not Presently Opening From The Outside. Door Does Open From The Inside• A Bit Of Interior Petrol / Gas Nose Presently • Light General Cosmetic Imperfections Here & There
• Freewheel Has Been Deactivated
If Not Specifically Scrutinizing For Flaws,
This Phenomenal 95 Looks / Presents As Cherry As They Come.
There Is Nothing Negative Of Significance About The Car To Disclose
Other Than The Above Noted Items
Or Would Disclose Here.
Saab Produced -5- Times More 96's Than 95's.
96's Are Rare, As It Is.
95's Are Extra Rare.
As Only 1/5 As Many 95’s Were Produced
And Typically More Beaten As A Wagon. Leading To Further Rarity Circa 2016. 43 Years Later.
1973 Was The Final Year Saab Imported The 95 Wagon To The US.
So 73 Is As State-Of-The-Art As 95’s Get In The US.
All The Care Placed Into This Verona Green 95
Distinguishes It Further From Most If Not All Remaining 95 Examples On The Road. Much Further.
Have Had A Zillion Cars In My Time
Including Many Saab 99’s And 900’s
And Always Wanted A 95.
Have Been Enjoying This Car Very Much,
As Likely One Of The Very Best Examples In The World Perhaps.
Not Hype. Simply A Probable Fact.
To My Knowledge, This Car Has Not Been Rallied / Raced Previously.
Though Surely it Could Be If Desired.
Have Recently Been Selling Off My Car Collection
Having Owned & Enjoyed Every Car I’ve Ever Wanted
Including
A Later Model Porsche 911 C4S,2 65 / 66 912’s,A 70 914,2 Lamborghini Espadas ( 70 & 73 )A 73 BMW 3.0 CSIAnd Many Many Other Cars, Japanese, European & Domestic

3 Additional Notes:
• Front Seats Are Original And Have Some Seam Separation(s) In A Few Places.
Not Really Noticeable Unless Scrutinizing For Flaws.
These Seats Are Not Available As Reproductions,
And There Is No Specific Repair Solution
Per Mike Of Val’s Upholstery In San Francisco, A Classic Car Interior / Upholstery Expert.
Recommendation Is To
Leave The Seats As They Are
Or Miraculously Source Same Color Front Seats In Better Condition From Another Car. Highly Unlikely.
Other Alternative Is Replacing Seats, Or Recovering With Non-Original Material. Neither Is Recommended.
Doing Nothing To The Seats Is Recommended.
• Nitpicking The Car Is Unnecessary.
No One Would Nitpick A 50s or 60s Ferrari In This Condition.
You’d Simply Be Counting Your Millions.
This 73 95 Wagon In This Condition Is No Less Rare Than A Vintage Ferrari In Like Condition,And Possibly Rarer At This Point.
So A Reminder That The Far Lower Price Of This 73 95 Versus A Vintage Ferrari
Does Not Change The Fact That This Specific Car In This Specific Condition Is Very Very Rare Indeed.
There Are Likely A Handful Of 95’s Across The World In This Condition Or Better.
With The Engine Rebuild To High Performance Spec,
Versus The Somewhat Anemic Horsepower From The Factory,
This May Be The Very Best 95 Anywhere
Considering Quality & Performance Both.
Some Extra Perspective To Ponder.
Seller Prefers Local Buyer Pick-Up In Person
Though Will Coordinate Transport With Prevailing Buyer In The US Or Overseas
If Prevailing Buyer Is Not Local / San Francisco Bay Area.
