1991 Saab 900 Description

For Sale. NO Reserve!! SAAB Mechanic Owned. Clean Title in Hand.
1991 Saab 900 Turbo with 5 Speed Manual Transmission.

I am the second owner of this beautiful 900 turbo. Bought from the original owner in March of 2011, it was always my project car and not driven very often. For the last 5 years or so it has been sitting in the driveway covered. Over the last few months I have gone through the vehicle, bringing it back to life as best I could. The main reason I am selling is because of the needed body work. I am a former SAAB mechanic and can handle any of the mechanic issues but I am not a body work specialist nor do I have the desire to do the body work. I'm hoping the next owner can build upon all the work I have done, and bring this 900 back to showroom condition.

Since the day I have owned this car, I've only put around 1500 miles on it. The following list of parts have been replaced over the years and have 1500mi or less on them.
-New head gasket and valve seals (head machined and pressure tested)
-Intake, exhaust, and valve cover gasket
-Rebuilt Garrett T3 turbo, all new seals on the lines and rubber o-ring for oil return into the block
-Ignition timing is advanced to 18 degrees, 93 octane is required (If you want to run 87 octane, ignition timing will have to be set back to 16 degrees or you may have some knocking)-Interstate Battery (battery is unhooked when car sits, if battery remains hooked up for 7-10 days while not being driven, vehicle cranks slow or sometimes requires a jump start)
-Front pads and rotors
-Rear pads, rotors, and calipers
-Parking brake cables
-4 Continental DWS tires on 16'' aero wheels (wheels not new but in very good condition, one wheel has some pitting. Tires have like new tread but are showing signs of dry rot now from sitting)
-Axle boots (repacked with grease)
-Passenger side motor mount
-All 4 belts
-A/C idler pulley
-Thermostat-Heater core
-Alternator voltage regulator
-Alternator mounting bushings
-Alternator adjuster arm bushings
-All exhaust was replaced (except cat) (one of the muffler mounts rusted off of the car. Muffler is held by one mount and not two at the moment.)-Silicon vacuum lines
-Bosch fog light kit
-Custom Headliner along with door inserts and sail panels
-Brand New NGK Spark plugs
-Distributor oring
-Some bulbs here and there and in instrument cluster-Cone Air Filter (original air box will be included with sale)-Forge 007 Bypass Valve-All carpeting was removed and shampooed (looks great!)
SPG vent covers, original body trim, black rubber floor mats and sunroof wind deflector included in sale. Sunroof wind deflector broke in half but looks like it could be put back together with some epoxy or plastic weld.
The engine runs extremely well and the transmission shifts very smooth. No known issues whatsoever in the drivetrain. All electronics work with the exception of the drivers heated seat.
This 900 is not perfect, there are still somethings that will need to be taken care of. The list is as follows:
The paint was being prepped for a respray years ago. I had a friend who worked at a body shop helping me with it. It was sanded down and imperfections were being fixed. However, he decided he couldn't dedicate much more time to the project after the work already started. There is primer sprayed on various parts the body where repairs were made and there are visible sand scratches on the roof and hood. They are visible up close but from 10ft away you will not notice them. I have buffed and restored the paint to my best ability and it has a nice shine to it. The car has some more remaining dings, scratches, and a few rust spots. The most major of the rust is by the lower control arms. That will have to be repaired sooner than later. Please see photos!
The interior is in decent shape for its age with the exception off the front seats and the cracked dashboard. At one point, the sunroof drains become clogged and water got into the cabin. The water ruined the headliner (thats why it was replaced) and the leather of the front seats. Driver seat is not terrible but the passenger seat leather is destroyed. Rear seats are in good shape with no tears.
Other small things include:
- Driver side mirror glass missing- Horn Buttons missing (horn still works when you press the contacts)- AC is does not work. I never looked into this. It would need to be converted to be recharged with R134a)- AC Button is missing. (orange connector shows in photos)- Passenger side headlight housing (not the glass) has a broken tab and the headlight tilts down. I put a piece of tape to hold it in place. I've tried to fix it with RTV and hot glue with no luck.
