The story on this Saab. . .a 91 Saab 900 S with 161k miles.
Car has been in the family for the last fifteen years. Non-smokers. I would love to keep the car, but I think there's a Saab enthusiast out there who would love it more.
Here’s what works. . .
Strong engine/5 speed trans/clutch grabs nice.
Lights have good lens/housing.
Outside looks decent.
Moonroof works
Window motors works
Brakes work
Parking brake works (although front right caliper parking brake cable not connected)
Wipers work
Recent new headliner
Did not notice any coolant leaks.
Just changed the oil, did not notice any oil leaks.
Title is clean.
New Muffler/Exhaust pipe from manifold to tailpipe (except catalytic converter) replaced recently ($240.00 value in parts alone)
What doesn't work. . .
CV joints (clicks on left turn)
Could use some new tires
Needs catalytic converter
No lower backseat
Body rusting underneath spare tire area
Cracked dashboard
Brake master cylinder sensor leaking.
Cracked driver's seat.
No A/C (no compressor)
3 bad shocks, one new one installed. (another still in box)
High beam switch not working all the time (causing one headlight to be dimmer than the other).
Battery doesn't hold a charge.
Hood has some visible rust on the corner.
One of the wheels is not balanced, shakes at about 65.
Needs floor mats.
The pics were of my recent trip (April 2016) to the Florida Keys from New Jersey and back. The only problem I had was the battery died when I left the radio on with the engine turned off. The battery was already weak holding a charge. And on the way back it started to shake at 65, I think one of the weights on the front wheels came off making it out of balance. I actually balanced the wheel before I left, but I guess they didn’t put the weight on correctly.
I tried to embed a youtube video about the car in this listing. If it doesn’t display, just go to youtube and type in the search bar,
‘Saab 900 S 1991 For Sale in Teaneck’ You’ll see it on the FlyingBumperCars channel. This is my third Saab 900. My last one went to 219,000 miles, and I know this one still has some life in it. This can be a great car for someone who wants to tinker, or perhaps use it as a parts car. If you want to check out the car, just private message me and we’ll set up a time. The car doesn’t have plates or insurance so I can’t offer a test drive. But if you wanted to drive it to the corner and back, I don’t think that would bother anybody. I start all my auctions at .99 cents and give it a duration of seven days. There is no shipping on this car, you will have to pick it up.
