Like all '68 GT350s, No. 2652 was equipped with Ford's newly introduced 302 topped with a Holley 600 4-barrel and rated at t modest 250 horsepower. Unlike previous years, the only Shelby engine tweak was the aluminum intake manifold. The heavy-duty suspension enhancements repeated the '67 model year's, featuring rerated springs, adjustable shocks and larger anti-sway bars. DNB Machine in Santa Fe Springs rebuild the mill to stock specs, adding only a set of Ford aluminum roller rockers and hardened valve seats for unleaded gas. A 3-angle valve job liberated a few more ponies, brining the total output to an estimated 300 at 5000 rpm.
