1968 Shelby GT 350 Convertible - this is the real deal. It is in the Shelby Registry though I never purchased a Marti report. I am the 4th owner of this car. It was purchased originally by a man on the West Coast and very soon after by a gentleman from Oregon. The car spent the first half of it's life in Oregon. I bought the car from the 2nd owner's daughter after the gentleman passed away making me the 4th owner technically. I brought the car to Texas and that is where it has spent the last 2o+ years. I have owned the car since 1995. The car is located in Spring Texas just North of Houston. Search https://youtu.be/v9HSis1M_IM for a walk around video of the car running which was taken last week.
When I purchased the car I had it repainted and the engine rebuilt. The upholstery was already immaculate but the dash bezels were also restored at that time. The odometer does not show accurate mileage. The car has about 125,000 miles on it. The rebuilt engine about 5,000. This car is no trailer show queen. The paint and chrome still show pretty well for their age. Though there are a couple of dings in the paint. Not many. The convertible tops works perfectly though there is one small tear in it which is shown in the pictures. The back glass in the top is replacement and looks brand new. The interior, save for the tacky woodgrain applique is also in incredible condition. The car has spent long periods in the garage as I work overseas a lot. Then periods of being driven regularly on weekends when I was home. The ignition system and carburetor were replaced for better drivability, along with a few other things. I still have the carb that was on it when I received the car. Other things have been replaced along the way such as the hood and console. It is a straight and righteous car. When it was painted it was stripped and the body is immaculate. If you wanted a show car you are talking about repainting the car and replacing a couple of trim pieces here and there. Otherwise, if you want a car you can drive to a show and shine and not worry if it rains, here's your car. The car is currently registered and inspected in Texas in my name. It has a clear Texas title in my name as well.
We are moving and I won't have space for the car any longer. I hate to sell it as it has been in the family for so long. But now it is time for someone else to enjoy this beautiful convertible the way it was meant to be enjoyed. The car isn't perfect. But my reserve reflects that fact. This is still an investment grade car for this price. And it can be bought.
It costs money to place these listings. So please be serious if you bid on the car. And if you want to contact me please use the eBay email system or you won't reach me. The car is also offered for sale locally, therefore, I reserve the right to end the auction at any time should it not be available any more. The car can be viewed if an appropriate time can be arranged. The car will not leave my garage until full payment is received.
