While paint was exceptional, a few items needed addressed- Exhaust manifolds were leaking so had Mustang Mania in Austin pull themotor, trans, rear end, exhaust and perform several "while they were there" items:
- Remove engine and transmission, disassemble and inspect engine-short block in great shape, heads needed hardened seats, new guides, pushrods, valve job, surface and deck. Install new Melling oil pump, cam kit FE, windage tray, motor mounts. Assemble and paint motor. Rebuild and install transmission. Replace all vacuum lines and fuel lines. Replace spark plug wires, speedometer cable, starter, fuel pump, Group 27Autolite battery, starter, hoses, and points with Pertronix ignition. Respray engine compartment.
-Install correct 31 Spline Axles, correct rear end housing, 3.50 Richmond gears, wheel studs, snubber, bearings, parking brake levers, parking brake cables, brake lines, brake shoes, exhaust hangers, etc. All new undercarriage hardware. Respray underside correct red oxide.-Install FOMOCO 428 power steering pump painted correct blue and all new power steering hoses.
