1965 Shelby Description

I am the original owner of KMP 174, an unhit gorgeous, 3200 mile all aluminum Kirkham with all of the original paperwork, including the MSO. Guardsman blue with silver stripes. Never tracked, never raced, never hit, nor re-painted. Southern Automotive/Bill Parham built 427 FE Side oiler (real 1965 cast iron block, not an aluminum wanna be. Casting #C5AE-H with casting date of 6B11(February 11, 1966) Built .020 over with 428 crank for a total of 454 CID. Toploader 4-Speed with recent rebuild, Lakewood Scattershield, Centerforce II Clutch, recent Kirkham mechanical throw out bearing. Excellent Trigo/Halibrand 6-pin wheels with new front spinners and all are correctly safety wired. Single 4 barrel Holley on medium rise Edelbrock aluminum intake. Edelbrock aluminum water pump and new upper radiator hose. Chrome polished overflow tank and correct oil vapor “puke” tank. Wilton carpets are perfect, as are the Connolly Leather Seats. 5-point driver's harness, matching lap belt for passenger. Rare original, not billet suspension, battery in back of passenger seat. Lexan windshield. Just had Jet-Hot re-coat the side pipes and they are beautiful. New Hurst shifter kit, new Valley Cobra boot, new ring gear and a rebuilt hi-torque, light weight starter. Recent Carter fuel pump, recent alternator and voltage regulator. MSD ignition with MSD timing computer. Setrab remote oil cooler and remote oil filter. Distributor just rebuilt with new bronze drive gear, new MSD Blaster II coil and new MSD ignition wires. Leak down testing in February was excellent in all holes. New battery. No radio, no windows, no external door handle, no windows, no fuel level gauge, no tonneau studs, no top(s), no glove box, no heater (except the gearbox!), and thankfully, not signed by 'Ol Shel (rare). Set up just as a $1.5 Million Cobra would have been back in the day. Fire system and separate fire extinguisher (none ever used!). Just did intake manifold gasket and valve cover gaskets, with fresh plugs, oil change with new filter, fresh coolant and valves adjusted and timing set. New rear main seal. Really, really nice car that has never been abused and pays homage to the great Cobra 427SC racers of the day. Clean, clear Texas title as a '65 Ford. Mountains of paperwork, documents, receipts, correspondence and complete notes under my ownership. Paint defects: small chip below trunk lid small “ripple” in the sheet metal at roll bar orifice, no paint defect paint defect on lip where stripe goes inside trunk-not visible with trunk closed. Many, many more pictures available: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1965-ac-cobra-7/ Great chance to own a real Kirkham without the two year wait, and priced vastly lower than other Kirkhams on eBay.
