1967 Shelby 427 Description

I bought this cobra from Classic Cars Ltd. in California in Oct. 2015. They stated that "this car was owned by a serious collector, enthusiast and racer, on the West Coast.Unfortunately, as a result of the passing of the car’s owner, much of the history of the car is not available. This particular car was acquired in Arizona and subsequently titled in California as a 1967 Shelby. " I purchased it and it is currently titled, registered and licensedin South Carolina as a 1967 Shelby. It has a clear South Carolinatransferabletitle, with under 1,000 miles showing on the Smith's odometer / speedometer.

In 1993 Kit Car magazine tested and compared seven kit cars to an original Shelby 427 Cobra - "The Contemporary was the only car that equaled or bettered the results of the Shelby in every test category". See picture of Kit Car results. There is also a picture of the Contemporary Classic brochure and sticker . These are included in the sale.

Body was patterned directly fromShelby Cobra "SC" CSX-3045 owned bythefounder ofContemporaryClassics.Chassis - 4" O.D. -1/8" wall thickness round tube based on original SC design but has increased wall thickness to remove flex found in original SC built chassis.

This car is not in pristine "show-car" condition, although the body and paint are nearly perfect, the rest of the car is in very good driver-car condition. It was built ~25 yearsago. It could be put into show car condition with some chassis and component repainting and aluminum hardware polishing.

The car starts right up and runs "fast and loud".

I am selling it because I have too many projects now so cannot put much time into it.
