1965 Shelby Superformance Cobra Cobra Description

Cobras are special to just about everyone, and seeing one on the road is always an event. Even if you don't know a thing about cars, you know that this iconic roadster is a fast car. Built by Superformance, one of the leading Cobra manufacturers, this bold red roadster packs a serious punch from a performance-built 500 hp V8.Without knocking your knuckles on the car's skin, you'd be hard-pressed to tell this one from an original it's even titled as a 1965 Cobra in Florida. Superformance is one of the most accurate Cobra manufacturers and they took great pains to get the shape exactly right before they started pulling molds. As a result, this super slick little roadster looks like a million bucks, with great lines and an awesome shine that definitely makes it stand out. The Monza Red paint job has a stellar finish that makes this a coupe you'll be proud to show off. In fact, this one is spec'd for driving around like a gentleman's roadster. That means no competition hoop, full bumpers, and a folding roof with side curtains (a full tonneau also comes in the sale.) It's far from an easy-going boulevard cruiser, but the exhaust does exit out the rear instead of the side, which is an important distinction to some drivers. And of course, no one will mistake you for anything but a speed machine thanks to the Halibrand-style knock off wheels and staggered tire size for an aggressive stance.Curvy bucket seats look right, and more importantly, hold you in place during aggressive driving. This has that authentic feel ranging from the wood-rimmed Cobra steering wheel, to the interior-mounted fire extinguisher, to the competition seat belts. Cobra people know the importance of a full set of Smiths gauges properly set up with the tach in the driver's sightline and the speedometer reversed. There's no radio, no heater, no A/C nothing to get in between you and the pure driving experience! The engine is a small block 351 Windsor, but less than 200 miles ago it was stroked to a big block stomping 408 cubic inches. This performance build also included the right components such as SRP forged pistons, Eagle crankshaft & H-beam connecting rods, Comp Cams shaft with hydraulic rollers, Edelbrock Victor Jr heads, roller rockers, Holley Air Gap intake, and a Holley 750 CRM four-barrel carburetor. There's too much to list (call for all the details), but just know that this hot V8 is rated at 500 hp and 515 lb-ft of torque. This monster motor is also backed up by dependable components such an aluminum radiator, dual electric fan, and an electric fuel pump, so it reliably stays cool even in Florida. The header-fed dual exhaust makes a terrific rumble as it exits in the rear. Best of all, you have complete control over the performance-built V8 and its symphony thanks to the Tremec 3550 five-speed transmission. Power is nothing without control, and so you also have four-wheel disc brakes and wide BF Goodrich rubber at all four corners. There is a ton more details we'd love to tell you about this roadster. For now just know it's serious speed in a lightweight package. So, this Superformance Cobra recreates all the right elements with more power and at a fraction of the cost. Call today!!!
