This impeccable and all-original 1962 Studebaker Hawk GT (Gran Turismo) is one of the most perfect examples in existence. With just over 200 of the 8,388 Hawk GTs built for 1962 known to exist worldwide, and very few of those equipped with the exceedingly rare 4-Speed Manual Transmission, and even fewer left with close to the 42,355 Documented Original Miles of this of this pristine Hawk GT.
This Hawk comes complete with ownership documentation back to its original owner AND may be the only one that retains its Original Studebaker Production Order. This Original Numbers Matching Hawk GT is a rare factory radio-delete model equipped with its original 289 Cubic Inch engine, Rare 4-Speed Manual Transmission and Drivetrain. The GT Hawk achieved certified Milestone Car status long ago. With only 8,388 examples built for 1962, it's a rare, all-American Classic of the most desirable kind. Fifty-plus years later, there's but a handful of excellent, unrestored surviving GT Hawks left in the Country. Due to an incredible set of fortunate circumstances, this particular car has not only survived in outstanding, virginal condition, it also runs and drives every bit as strong as its creators intended and is ready for relaxed long-distance cruising.
Originally deigned and built to compare with the high-end European sports car market of that time, with art deco styling, fighter jet cockpit instrumentation, and European design cues. This Hawk GT still retains its beautiful original Metallic Silver color, with a striking and beautiful Red and Silver interior. It runs and drives excellent, having been meticulously maintained, is in outstanding condition throughout. Original, Desirable and Functional, this classic Studebaker Hawk GT is smooth and powerful, and a pleasure to drive.
This Hawk GT's body is as good as you'll ever find. There is not a speck of rust anywhere, and there has never been any rust repair necessary. The Silver Metallic paint is original and displays an irreplaceable luster befitting a fine antique. It's free of bubbles, dings, dents, or scratches. All brightwork and trim is in excellent original condition throughout. Here is your chance to secure one of the very few remaining certified American Milestone cars of the late Fiftes/early Sixties period not yet tucked away in some aficionado's private collection.
