1930 Studebaker Dictator Coupe Rare original survivor
1930 Studebaker Dictator Description
Survivor1930 Studebaker Dictator CoupeThe car runs, drives and stops very nicely. Idles quietly, has a slight exhaust tick on acceleration - otherwise original sounds (no squeaking or other unusual noises). All of the gauges and lights work. I'm not sure how to read the gas gauge so I'll mention that I don't believe it is giving an accurate reading.Original interior including door panels, seat covering, and roof paneling (rubber flooring is new). Appears to have most of its original wiring. Has had a repaint (not high quality, a long - long time ago, with some poor touch ups), expect scratches and chips. The right rear fender was poorly matched - a similar color paint over bare metal. Top was painted a long time ago, but does not leak and is intact (has one patch - see picture). Original wooden spoke wheels in great condition. Leaks at the rear axle housing (not much but worth noting). Water pump leaks near the distributor (not much but worth noting). No rust through evident anywhere on the car. No evidence of any major body damage on the car.According to the oil change sticker on the 'A' pillar the oil was changed on 11/21/1952 when it had 65,224 miles on it, and on another sticker it was changed again on 2/9/1962 when it had 67864. Car starts easily and idles with choke until its warmed up and then idles with no aid. Easily travels 45 miles an hour - could do more. Unsure of the history of the motor - no noticeable smoking. Runs without issue for long periods of time. Lower water hose should be replaced before a long trip - just looks too cool to replace for now.Running boards are actual boards covered in rubber and trimmed with aluminum - this was done a long time ago. Obviously cared for car, have some history.Would probably make a long trip, but would recommend trailering.Remarkable and rare car, add on top of that its originality and current condition and I believe this is priced to sell. Museum, private collection, or personal enjoyment are all reasonable considerations. Seeking a good home. I am currently in the middle of a move, and that is my reason for selling. Not enough garage space at the new location. Please study the pictures and ask questions.
