1957 Studebaker Commander DeLuxe 4dr Sedan
1957 Studebaker Commander DeLuxe Sedan Description
Seecondition description. In addition, I've replaced the shocks and had the front end aligned. It rides smooth as silk at highway speeds. In the last year I've spent $10,700 on the paintwork and $6500 on the interior alone. The reserve is well below that. I realize working on the car was a labor of love and never expected to get all the money back that I put into it. I have two other Studebakers and don't want to park this one outside under a car cover. A realistic gauge on the condition is between a #1 and #2.The car was in amazingly rust free condition when I bought it. There was just some surface rust on the rocker panels, not so much as one pinhole on the entire car. The chrome and stainless are original. One door moulding has a small ding and the upper right moulding of the backglass is dented from reinstallation after the glass was removed to facilitate replacing the headliner.
You can cruise all day long at 60-65 mph, gets about 15 mpg.
I have a video filmed at the Studebaker meet in South Bend available, just email me at hoesa81@yahoo.com
