For Sale 1951/1952 Studebaker Champion Convertible Custom/Hot Rod.This Studebaker started life as a 1952 Studebaker Champion Sedan, the roof was cut and the later model convertible top mechanics were added as well as the original front end sheet metal swapped over to the more desirable 1951 Bullet nose front end.This is a very solid car with strong floor pans, trunk pans and near perfect sedan frame. This cars 1952 sedan frame makes the perfect starting point for just about any engine/transmission combination. A large engine bay can just about accommodate any size V8 including a whole host of BIG BLOCK options. The Champion has an original style Dana 27 open rear end with factory 10" drum brakes. The front suspension consists of brand new king pins, new upper and lower control arm bushings, Ford Disk brakes and stainless steel flexible brake lines, Moog progressive coil springs with new insulators.The passenger side door and upper rear quarter sections did receive some expert custom body work to shape and mold the opening to the top of the body (the drivers side door was in progress when the project stopped) This car has been sitting for sometime so surface rust has formed on most surfaces as well as dirt and dust do to the conditions of the building it was stored in.The convertible mechanical set up is a mild custom version of the 1962-1964 Studebaker Convertible pieces comprised mostly from N.O.S parts, the front valance/header is an original type 1947-1952 piece in very good condition. The windshield frame is primarily that of a 1952 single glass sedan opening custom made for the convertible windshield (no glass is included with the vehicle).Additional Notes:-The vehicle has no title and is being sold with a Bill of sale upon request-The vehicle has no engine, transmission, or drive shaft-The vehicle has no working brakes, although the brakes are in place awaiting final connections to be made by purchaser -The vehicle has no steering column or steering wheel, although the front wheels are inter-connected via a tie rod and move very easily to push or tow.-Some Delivery for charge can be arranged with in 100 miles of South Bend Indiana.
