1980 Toyota Land Cruiser Fj40 Fj45 BJ40 HJ45 Description

Available is my 1983 Toyota FJ45 Land Cruiser. This truck has recently undergone extensive restoration work (body on), and many tasteful upgrades to enhance its on & off-road ability. This Toyota was imported from Australia (RHD), clean Oregon title in hand in my name.

I’ve invested a lot of time and money into this FJ to make it a one only. You’ll be hard pressed to find a nicer one. You couldn’t buy, restore, and upgrade one for what I’m asking. There are several features that make this FJ very desirable over most. These features include it being a real FJ45 (rare in the U.S.), factory power steering, full floating rear axle (Available only on non-domestic FJ-40s much stronger), disc brakes, Aussi lockers front & rear (some of the best on the market), 3:70 gearing allowing for Hwy. cruising, updated fuse block (modern spade fuses), and the list goes on.

Note: Ebaykeptlisting my truckas a 1980, however it is a 1983. Vin # FJ45344052

In an effort to make this ad easy to read and clear I’ll describe the truck in sections.

Body:

I searched for a long time to find an FJ45 that was absolutely rust free, and free of any previous repairs such as this FJ.

-Body was dissembled, making for a very thorough re-spray.

-High quality paints used, including some of the best Flat Finish clear coat making for a very durable finish.

-Over $600 invested in new OEM weather stripping during reassembly

-Majority of panels taken to bare metal.

-Upgraded flat bed, very expensive complete galvanized construction and fully boxed frame (drop sides).

-New canvas canopy custom made for bed, completely and easily removable. Only the best materials used (over $1200).

-Over $300 in new OEM emblems during reassembly

-New windshield, new wiper assemblies, and new OEM windshield gasket used.

-All window mechanisms, locks, and wing windows removed cleaned and readjusted for easy function.

Suspension:

All suspension replaced or rebuilt (underside of truck looks just as clean as top side).

-Newer Old Man Emu leaf springs (small 2” lift), best spring on the market for these Land Cruisers

-New shocks front/rear

-Knuckles rebuilt, upgraded marlin oil seals used, new wheel bearings, all new seals etc….(see pics)

-All steering linkage replaced, center link and steering box also rebuilt (see pics). Drives very tight.

-New polyurethane bushings throughout suspension.

- 5 New OEM Toyota Rims, 4 New OEM Toyota hub caps, 5 New BFG 33x10.50 All terrain tires (best tires available in this size). Full size matching spare wheel/tire under bed. Over $2500 worth of wheels & tires.

Drive train:

Original 2F motor, 4 speed, all in excellent running condition

-Motor upgraded with Man-A-Fre Power pack (over $1200). This kit includes upgraded Weber Carb conversion, Simple GM one wire HEI ignition system, and a long tube header. Resulted in better MPG, reliability, and noticeably more power.

-Transmission shifts as new, no issues, clutch feels as new.

-New radiator, and every cooling hose has been replaced.

-New u-joints (front/rear)

-Engine runs as new, starts very easily even in winter. Produces plenty of power, no leaks.

-Both differentials sent to Ken at gearinstalls.com for complete rebuild, re-gearing, and Aussi locker installs. Kens the best in the business, and only specializes in Toyota differentials. Differentials were also upgraded with marlin pinion seals (no more leaks), and solid pinion pre-load spacers for long trouble free use. Both diffs re-geared to 3:70 ratio for better Hwy. manners. (over $1700 value).

-A note on the Aussi lockers. I researched these units extensively and found these were the best available for the FJ in this style. They are essentially unnoticeable on the street, however they increase the Trucks performance off-road tremendously.

-New brakes front/rear. Calipers, Rotors, Pads, Hoses, Master Cylinder, etc…(see pics).

Interior:

All original interior, looks near new.

-Seats in excellent condition (No rips No holes)

-New door panels, new handles, cranks, locks, etc…

-Dash in good shape, no cracks.

-New OEM Toyota floor mat set.

-New OEM complete gauge cluster assembly (expensive). All gauges, lights, speedo, etc.. are 100% functional.

In summary I don’t think you’ll find a nicer Turn key ready FJ45 for the Money. This Toyota is rare (especially in this condition), gets plenty of attention/complements every time I drive it, cruises 60+ all day, and will go anywhere. Truck has 236,000 Kilometers, Or 146,000 original miles.
