Our Toyota OJ55 Crew Cab has arrived. This truck has been worked over from top to bottom. This rig started life asaretired Brazilian Air-force truck that we found in Curitiba,Brazil. We startedthe restoration process by stripping the vehicle down and cutting out all of the bad sheet metal, removing all rust and welding in all new replacement panels. This truck is 100% rust free. While the body was off the chassis weservicedthe frame and all mechanical components. We ditched the factory four speed and replaced it with a five speed from a later model.Thetruck is painted a beautiful "Squadron Blue"with metallic accents on the door handles, bumpers, wheels, and interior trim.The factory squared headlights and grill were replaced with the earlier round headlights and grill reminiscent of the early 80's FJs.The interior cab was painted to match the exterior and the trim is all new, including gauges and head liner. There has been 135 miles on the vehicle since the build was finalized. Prior to the build this truck had approximately 98,000 miles on it. The powertrain is a factory installed Mercedes OM364 3.7l diesel, rated at 115hp. We replaced all of the injectors with new OEM units and replaced all gaskets and seals.These motors have a reputation of being bulletproof and are commonly used in city buses, garbage trucks, tractors, and Unimogs. The truck haspower steering,disk brakesup front and new drums in the rear. We wrapped the titanium grey metallic 16" steel wheels with new BFG All-Terrains KO2s. This truck is a great driver with no squeeks, pops, or rattles. No oil leaks to be found and has been given a clean bill ofhealth from our mechanics.
