1977 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 Description

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

This gem belonged to a little coffee farm its entire life!!! Just 2 owners... it’s the best Land Cruiser you can own, no exposure to ice, coastal salt, rain or moisture, just simply the best 4x4 you can find at this price.

This is the real deal… on one hand the Aussies and Japanese’s TLC comes with the steering wheel on the wrong side, in the other hand south American TLC are cheap knock-offs-locally made-not 100% Japanese-cars (like the Brazilian Banderainte, that actually comes with a Mercedes engine …, you need to be careful with this ).. This one is an authentic left-hand drive, Japan built vintage Land Cruiser BJ40 diesel!!!

Car looks and feels great & almost new for a 40 years old car. Fully restored frame-up to its original condition! On the inside: dashboard, gears knobs, doors, roof, seats, seals, windows..... Etc., everything was changed / fixed / refurbished in order to look and function as it did the day it left the factory. Under the hood: it comes with the bulletproof B engine, virtually indestructible and one of the most reliable diesel engines ever made. Runs, sounds and rides like a Boss! You’ve got nothing to worry about. On the outside, the bodywork has been taken care of in every single corner; every single angle and every single point of paint in order to make it looks awesome.

Chassis is strong, reliable, and firm. The gearbox, brakes, suspension and every part of the undercarriage has been fixe, repaired and changed with fresh new parts (of course, just Japanese hi-quality parts used)

WHY IS A DIESEL LAND CRUISER THE BEST VEHICLE TO OWN?

***Amazing investment potential. Value only appreciates instead of depreciating like a newer vehicle.

***High Value- Land Cruisers have sold at auction for over $100 and the majority sell for around $50k at auctions.

***Used veggie oil to run your Cruise. For Free! Lineal diesel pumps are great for running with WVO or Biodiesel

***3 vehicles in 1. Take the top and sides off for open air driving or put on a soft top for a different look.

***Parts are easy to find.

***"Bullet proof engines" The B diesel engines are known to rarely break down and get to 500k miles.

***Great MPG. 33mpg average

***Drive something that no one else has. There are very few diesels LCs in the US.

***If you're a business owner, this is the perfect vehicle to promote your business because of the head turning classic looks.

A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUTH TLC 40 SERIES

For collectors this one will only go up in value. Diesel 40s were made from 1974- 1984 according to Wikipedia.

We have kept the original paint color with accents of the original gun metal gray.

No one in the world needs reminding of the legendary reputation of the Land Cruiser. They go anywhere, they do anything, and they don't break down. This one will certainly go anywhere, but it won't go anywhere fast. That is because instead of being one of the FJ series Land Cruisers we are used to in the states, this one is an BJ, which means there is a pulsing, throbbing (there is no other way to say this) diesel between those elegantly sculpted front fenders.

This particular cruiser comes from Costa Rica, and it isn't alone. Costa Rica has become the hot spot for TLC imports these days, for a couple reasons. First, unlike Aussie imports, they are LHD. Second, a couple of companies have popped up down there in recent years that are manufacturing new body panels for old cruisers, and from what I have read, they are using original Toyota tooling. Considering that there is not much space to hide shoddy work on a vehicle that shows more metal than OzzFest, this particular example looks to have been restored pretty well.

Sure, a modern truck is faster, and it has amenities, but modern truck doesn’t look nearly this good. They also don't have that magical off-road combination of solid axles and a diesel motor.

A dear friend told me once, Modern trucks (like a Tacoma for example) are known for holding value well. When he bought his most recent vehicle, he set out to find a Tacoma. He bought a low mileage British luxury car because it was half the price of a Tacoma that had twice the miles. There is a very real chance, however, that an old TLC like this one would be worth more than you paid for it when you get around to selling it. Prices for vintage off-roaders have been climbing significantly of late, and show no signs of abating.

Like any other 40 years old car…. Sold as it…

Foot note:this ride can go anywhere, anyplace, can climb a tree, a mountai, etc…. but can’t go fast… maximum speed for this old diesel baby is 50 MPH, so consider this if you want to take it onto the highway.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T BID UNLESS YOU PLAN ON PURCHASING THANK YOU!!!
