Up for auction is a 1986 Toyota Pickup 4x4. This truck is equipped with a Mr. Goodwrench 350 Chevy engine, with Hei distributor, and quadrajet carb. The engine has roughly 15-20k miles on it. The parts to convert this truck to sbc were all purchased from Downey Off Road before they closed their doors. The parts are as following: Bellhousing, flywheel, centerforce clutch and pressure plate, headers, notched oil pan, special high volume oil pump for notched oil pan clearance, mini high torque starter, poly engine mounts, and land cruiser slave cylinder. The rest of the parts were bought locally or online. There is a 2 inch body lift on the truck to clear the engine and distributor. The Bumper also has a relocation kit on it. K&N air filter. There is a custom exhaust with dual flowmasters. The transmission has been upgraded to the w56 5 speed manual transmission. That transmission is the next gen trans that came in the fuel injected trucks. The floor had to be cut and a custom shifter boot made which looks very good. The tires are 31” BFG All terrains which have maybe 3000k on them. The radiator is an aftermarket three core HD radiator that fits in the stock location. It has dual electric fans on two individual toggle switches. The clutch master is new, as is the brake master cylinder. All the brakes have been redone, new pads, rotors, rear shoes, bearings have been repacked. The starter system has a trick switch setup on a momentary toggle. (All aftermarket switches are military aircraft quality, not junk China parts) It has Bosch engine gauges (oil, temp, and volt) Radio delete plate in the radio area. It also has a mini tach on the console. E-brake works. Now for some of the bad, it has a rebuilt KY title due to an engine fire, which is why it now has the 350. It is clean title otherwise and transferrable/tag-able anywhere. The speedo does not work due to the cable being melted in the fire; I have not replaced it because it would not read correctly due to the tire size. Gas gauge works fine. The tail gate is in rough shape, it works, but if I kept it longer I would replace it, as it has some rust holes. The driver’s side bed panel has some rust issues, about 5 holes along the side, they can be fixed. The front quarters both have a hole at the 12 o’clock spot on the wells; they are smaller than a dime. That is the only rust on the truck, the cab is perfect, zero rust. The doors are the same, perfect, they do need window wipers, but the seals are good. The passenger side of the bed is excellent, no through rust. The bed floor and bed front are excellent as well. The frame of the truck is perfect, which is rare for these trucks. There is no rust on the frame or any of the body mounts. Floor pans are all excellent. Has a nice class III hitch as well. Locking hubs work great. Both axles, the transfer case and transmission have mobil1 gear oil. The front suspension was redone around 1500 miles ago, it drives wonderfully. It is very tight in corners and going down the road. Drives straight. The interior of the truck is in very good shape; all the plastic is intact and nice. One piece or A-pillar trim on the passenger side has cracked, but it is still in place. Seats are nice, floor rubber is nice, door handles and window cranks are nice. Headliner is excellent as well as the visors, and door panels. Heat works great, No ac, but I have most of the parts for it. The Downey parts alone cost around 3-4k(their catalog goes with the truck), add the truck, tires, engine, and extras and you can see there is a lot of cash invested in this truck right now. You can see it, feel it, and hear it. This is a very nice truck, it turns heads and freaks people out, a little body work and it would be a really nice truck. It is fast, and it is fun. The truck has been my daily driver for a while now and has never left me out. It has 350 badges on the doors.
