1990 Toyota Celica Description

Up for sale is my 1990 Celica Alltrac. The car runs strong and is as far as I know all original. It has a "normal" Indiana title but the Carfax report shows it was claimed as a total loss by the insurance company in 09. I'm not sure why, the Carfax doesn't say, but my best guess is it was written off because of the hail damage. The damage is minor but the estimate repair might have exceeded the value of the car. I've included pics of the Carfax so you can see what it says for yourself.
It needs the exhaust fixed, the exhaust broke right at the flex pipe at the front of the exhaust, it runs fine but is loud. I've looked and I believe it would cost about $200 for a new pipe which is sold here on Ebay.

It has some small dents in the paint, that look like hail damage to me. These are mostly on the sunroof and hood. These are hard to see but the pics of the roof shows a couple of them. It has a small dent (it looks like the fender was hooked on something as it was backing up) in the front driver side fender, I've included a picture of it in the gallery. It has a small dent in the roof where a piece of metal fell from the rafters while I was having my garage roofed.
The rear window defrost isn't working, I believe I might have scraped a contact while removing tint, but it might be something else.
The antenna won't go down, the motor works, you can hear it, but I believe the piece inside has separated. The antenna works fine and I've been told this is simply a matter off unscrewing the old one and replacing it. I've bought a new antenna which will be included.
It has an oil leak which from looking at it might be from the valve cover or possibly the turbo.
It makes a clunk sound from hitting a pothole A couple of winter seasons It doesn't affect the car much as far as driving but you can hear it when you go over bumps.
The windshield seal looks like it's pulling up out of the channel slightly on the upper passenger side. I believe it's just from the seal being so old. It looks like it could just be reglued as the seal itself looks fine.
I noticed on the hood in the paint there is a minor change in tint on part of the clear cost, it looks like something was spilled on the hood and left a slight stain. .
The windshield wiper arms need repainted. They work fine but the paint is old and faded and they have some rust on them.
The cigarette lighter doesn't work. It's not a fuse, I read up on the problem and apparently it's fairly common and easy to fix but you have to remove the radio to fix it.
The interior is in very good condition, the leather on the driver side is flaking but overall very good condition. It has the System 10 stereo with the original CD player and cassette, which works fine. The sunroof works fine. I've never charged the AC, but it blows when you turn the AC on, just not cold, so it probably just needs charged.
It has new tires, three are approx 3 1/2 years old and have less than 10,000 miles on them, I can't recall the exact mileage when I put them on but I don't think I've driven the Alltrac 10,000 miles in the roughly 4 years I've owned it. The front passenger tire is pretty much brand new because I had to replace it after hitting a bad pothole two winters ago.
The car runs strong and has never given me a single problem as far as dependability goes. I worked in North Dakota and drove it daily up there in all weather (it's great in snow) and then drove it home to Indianapolis through Chicago, stop and go traffic etc and it drove perfectly.
It's an almost thirty year old car so it's got it's dents and dings and chip shop in the paint but as far as I can tell it's all original and I doubt you'll find a better example in the wild. It has no rust on the body. It was Ziebarted when new (I have the invoice) so I'm sure that helped. In the roughly 4 years I've owned it's spent about half of that garaged. The gentleman I bought it from had kept it garaged for several years before that.
I was told the odometer was replaced with approx 9,500. I have no proof of this but that's what I was told when I bought the car and I was given a hand written and signed statement from the original owner attesting to it, but I've moved several times since then and can't find the statement. I did call the Toyota dealership where the work was done to verify it when I first purchased the car but they weren't able to say one way or the other. Going by the condition of the car when I bought it I believed it to be true, the Carfax report also backs the mileage up. I believe the car has around 82,000 actual miles on it, but again, can't verify it.
The car has a newer battery, bought in late 2013, new front brake pads and new plugs and wires.
If purchased the car could be driven home. I can't make any guarantees of course, it's an almost 30 year old car but I drove it from North Dakota to Indiana through a near blizzard in Minnesota and bumper to bumper gridlock in Chicago and the car ran great with zero issues. Like I said as far as reliability goes I've never had a single problem from the car.

If I think of anything else I'll let you know or if you have any specific questions feel free to ask.
