The Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ73
I am a dealer of classic and collectible cars as well as a life-long 4x4 enthusiast. After building a relationship with one of Japan's largest vehicle exporters, I became an importer of rare and unique 4x4's. I specialize in Toyota Land Cruisers and other Toyota 4x4's. I legally imported this Land Cruiser HZJ73 late last year. It is 100% legal to own and drive in all 50 states. Outside of the US, diesel Land Cruisers are legendary vehicles well-known for offroad capability and unmatched reliability and durability. Now that these vehicles are past the 25-year-old limit, we can enjoy them here in the states.
eBay requires a 17-digit VIN in the listing, the actual VIN for this Land Cruiser HZJ73 is HZJ730002111. It was produced for the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) and does not have a 17-digit VIN. The original VIN plate reading LN610019484 is still fixed in the factory location on the engine firewall. Additionally, this factory VIN is stamped into the frame rail behind the drivers side front tire. The Missouri title and customs documentation all match this VIN.
100% Legal, Fully Documented, Missouri Title
First, this is a 100% legal and documented import vehicle. I have copies of all the customs, EPA, DOT and import paperwork that will go with the vehicle to the new owner. This Land Cruiser HZJ73 has been titled in Missouri, and can be legally titled and driven in all 50 states (including California!). In the few places where diesel emissions testing is required, this vehicle will pass local inspection, guaranteed. Replacement parts and accessories are generally available to ensure a long life of service. Driving a right-hand-drive vehicle is not nearly as difficult as it might first appear. After a few minutes, any driver can become comfortable with driving "on the wrong side." The uniqueness of this setup starts conversations and turns heads everywhere you go.

The paint is original, with original period graphics. The fender mounted mirrors provide great visibility and a unique JDM appearance. Everything on this truck works. The tires are in need of replacement, but otherwise the truck is road-ready.
The interior is in excellent condition. The interior looks "like new" (common with Japanese vehicles). The power windows and locks are a nice convenience. The headliner is clean. The dash and instruments are in excellent condition. The carpet is clean. The factory AC has been serviced and blows ice cold.
The paint on this truck is original and has some signs of age including minor scratches and some minor fading. The body is in excellent condition with only minor rust spots in the rockers on each side and a dime-sized spot appearing on the rear cargo area floor. For being 25 years old, this truck is in excellent condition.

Frequently-Asked-Questions from LandCruisersDirect.com
Where do your vehicles come from?
We look for rare and unique 4x4's in all corners of the world. There have been many great vehicle platforms that were never available here in the US. Our primary source is Japan, but we also deal with vehicles from Australia, Europe and South America.
What's involved in importing a vehicle from a foreign country?
The short answer is, a lot! Finding the vehicles, inspecting them before purchase, facilitating the transaction, arranging shipping and insurance, obtaining customs clearance, port retrieval, and US titling and licensing are just some of the steps involved. But we do all the hard work for you! From purchase to delivery, we can handle everything in between and make it fun and enjoyable to find and buy a non-US vehicle.
Is it legal to own, license and drive a non-US market vehicle in my state?
The vehicles we import are 100% legal across the US.
Is it hard to drive a right hand drive vehicle, and is it legal?
It is completely legal and easy to adjust to driving a right hand drive vehicle. A few minutes behind the wheel and you can become completely comfortable with driving "on the wrong side".
Do you ever have any left hand drive trucks?
Left hand drive vehicles were only available in a few markets worldwide. Some South American countries, Europe and the Middle East are examples where left hand drives were available. However, these vehicles are few and far between, and when they become available they command a premium price. Check our current inventory to see what we have available.
Do you provide vehicle financing?
We do not do financing, however we will work with you and your lending institution to secure financing whenever necessary. You're best option is your local bank or credit union. You can also try specialty financing companies that focus on classic and collectible vehicle purchases such as JJ Best Banc & Company. We can help provide inspections and appraisal data to get you the loan you need.
Is it hard to find parts for non-US vehicles?
The short answer is no, but it depends on what you are looking for. Most drivetrain components are still available from Toyota and can be ordered from any dealership as long as you have the part number. Electronics, trim and interior are harder to find, but there are healthy used parts markets in Canada and Australia where these vehicles have been available for many years. A great place to start looking is our partners at Cruiser Outfitters.
Are accessories and aftermarket upgrades like lift-kits available?
Absolutely yes. Land Cruisers have a dedicated following and aftermarket support worldwide. There are many providers of aftermarket accessories, performance upgrades and replacement parts. We recommend talking to our partners at Cruiser Outfitters for all your parts and accessory needs.
Can US mechanics and service shops work on these vehicles?
Absolutely yes. Any good diesel shop can service and rebuild the engines and fuel systems. Other drivetrain components are similar to the US spec vehicles and can be serviced and rebuilt at almost any professional shop specializing in those items.
Can you help me arrange shipping or pick me up at the airport if I'm going to drive home?
Absolutely yes. Shipping is typically $0.65-$0.95 per mile depending on location, and I can arrange shipping with a licensed and insured transporter. If you're flying in and driving the truck home, I can pick you up at Springfield (SGF) airport.
