1987 Toyota LandCruiser FJ60 - Rust Free, 148k miles
1987 Toyota Land Cruiser Description
Very fun, very cool FJ60 Landcruiser up for auction. With its all-original paint and interior, you can see how well this truck's survived its 30 years. At 148,000 miles on the clock, it's just getting broken in, and would be a great cruiser as-is or solid foundation for a big-time build.
The Good
- Low mileage for an FJ60
- Interior is mostly undamaged (including front seats)
- Significantly rust-free body and frame, including all fenders, rockers, floors, drip rail, etc. Only visible rust is mentioned below
- All glass is good
- Good amount of recent service (see below)
- Has factory rear heater, headlight washers, and mudflaps
- Door speaker holes haven't been cut larger
- Original floor jack and tool kit are still intact and with the truck
The Not So Good
- Typical Texas crack in dash
- AC needs recharge (or better yet, convert to R134). Blower and heater work well
- Pinhole rust spot at bottom of back glass seal (shown in pics)
- Driver's window crank isn't super smooth, but still goes all the way up/down
- Typical FJ60 silver paint fade, and other cosmetic imperfections - I've tried to show everything in the pics.
Significant new parts/service in last 500-1,000 miles:
- Knuckle rebuild using Cruiser Outfitter kit with Timken wheel bearings and upgraded axle seals
- New brake master cylinder
- New front brake rotors
- New water pump
- New thermostat
- Allnew coolant hoses (mix of Genuine Toyota and Gates)
- New aluminum Champion radiator (still have the original if wanted)
- New brakes hoses
- New alternator (upgraded to 80 amp unit)
- New battery
- New choke cable
Happy to answer questions and show it off in person if you're in the area. I can also help you arrange shipping.
Thanks!
