1980 Toyota Land Cruiser 80 Turbo Diesel RHD
1980 Toyota Land Cruiser Land Cruiser 80 Turbo Diesel Description
For sale is a 1991 (eBay will not recognizethe Japanese VIN if listed as a 1991, hence why it's listed as 1980)RHD Toyota Land cruiser VX-Limited 4WD turbo diesel imported from Japan.
Model: HDJ81 (80 series).
Engine/Drivetrain: 4.2L inline six 1HD-T turbo diesel engine with factory 5 speed transmission.
Mileage: It has 234,xxx kilometers or 145,xxx miles, which is pretty low miles for it's age.
It has equipped:
- 6 inch Medium load heavy coil springs.
- Rancho RS9000 shocks.
- Caster correcting front control arms(they resemble Sleebuilt arms but have no branding that I can see).
- Adjustable Panhard Rods.
- Slee extended brake lines.
- Aftermarket drop brackets.
- Extended bump stops.
- RV Gear steering damper.
- Extended sway bar brackets.
- TJM T17 front bumper - accepts up to a 9000lb winch.
- Mickey Thompson 16x9 wheels.
- Toyota Open Country M/T 315/75r16 tires with tons of tread.
- Custom side exit 3" Stainless steel exhaust (it's pretty sweet sounding).
- Vintage Italian wood grainsteering wheel.
Maintenance:Timing belt/water pump was replaced at 178,xxx kilometers.I replaced the A/C belt, and both alternator belts at 233,xxx.
All fluids have been changed (both diffs, transfer case, transmission, and engine). All drained fluids were quite clean and had no metal shavings, grease, or odd coloring to them. I'd just rather have the reassurance knowing I changed them. That was done at 232,xxx kilometers so it's good to go for quite some time.
-All power features work- A/C, defrost, heat, folding power mirrors, power antenna, diff locker, low range 4WD, sunroof, headlight washers, clock, turbo light, all lights on speed cluster, etc.
-It has VERY minuscule surface rust, and by that I mean only having surface rust on bolt heads and such. There is NO rust on the body or undercarriage. I have re-undercoated it with 3M rubberized undercoat, and the reason for doing so is because the old undercoat was starting to flake off.
-It does not leak a single drop of oil anywhere, and does not burn any excess oil either (I check it bi-weekly depending on if it gets driven).
Things it could use:
- A front double cardan driveshaft (it has the factory driveshaft which has a bad axle angle due to the larger lift that causes some slight vibration and the lower U-joint makes a little noise the first half a second when you let off the pedal to decelerate. (STILL 120% DRIVEABLE WITH NO ISSUES. I just want any buyer to be aware of this before hand).-A radio. Odd I know. It didn't come with a radio and I use a beats pill for listening to music (still has all factory speakers and wiring harness for a radio to be hooked up).
Other than that this rig is a tank. The vehicle itself is not perfect so please do not expect it to be so, but it is in really good condition for it's age. The paint is not perfect, but it shines quite well and most people who see it say it looks great (I'm pretty picky so I'd rate it a 6.5-7 out of 10). Interior is super clean also (9+ out of 10). It feels and shifts like a big truck, but it's pretty comfortabledriving. It has proved very reliable for me. I've taken it on multiple 6 hour trips and never once had any issues. It has not seen any snow, ice, salt, mud, etc. It is easily the coolest vehicle I have owned, and definitelysparks a lot of gas pump conversations along with tons of thumbs up going down the road.
Please feel free to ask any questions and I'll answer them to the best of my knowledge as I may be forgetting to list something on here.
I reserve the right to close this listing at any time for serious buyers as I have it listed for sale locally also.
Vehicle has a CLEAN and CLEAR North Carolina title registered under the Japanese VIN with no issues at all.
Vehicle must be picked up in Fredrick Maryland, which is where I currently reside, and certified cashier's check or cash are the two payment options I accept.
