Before you and up for bid is my first generation 1987 TOYOTA MR2 Sport Coupe.The particulars of the MR2 are as follows:
* One lady owned MR2 since being purchased new on Valentines Day, 1988 as a early wedding present.
* Chicago residents, the new owners had to travel to Moody-Wadley Toyota in Dyersburg, TN., to take delivery, as that was the closest dealer to have this pewter color in inventory.
* Always a garaged and pampered car. In 1989, they moved to Florida to embark upon their new life. The MR2 is still on its 1989 Florida title.
* Non-smoker, no pets.
* ONLY 51,782 actual miles! (noted as actual on the title)
* NO collision history, no exposure to salt or winter corrosives. Save for a couple of minor parking lot mishaps, the paint is 90% original. All VIN tags are still affixed to their respective body parts, there is minor clear coat flaking (see pics)
* Completely stock, NO modifications ever and difficult to find having never been modified
* In 2013, the car overheated, it was taken to a Toyota "specialist". They recommended replacing the engine with a Toyota remanufactured engine. Receipts totaled more than $4800.00 with everything including a new alternator in Sept. of 2013.
* 1.6 liter, twin cam 16 valve engine
* 5 Speed manual transmission, silky smooth
* With a 91" wheel base, and a 2300 lb curb weight, these cars are "go-karts", great handling, nimble, and with an incredible turning radius.
* Factory AC
* Cruise Control
* Factory pop up sunroof w/sunshade, nice condition
* Original Toyota AM/FM/Cassette w/equalizer, plays fine
* Excellent seats (always covered) and carpets
* Very nice door panels, sun visors
* Both windows roll up and down smoothly
* NO dash cracks
* All gaskets and weather stripping are soft and pliable
* NO chipped or cracked glass
* Both doors lock and unlock properly either by key or manually. Both doors release properly by the interior & exterior door handles.
* Original keys, operational pamphlets, owners manual, warranty pamphlet w/owners name corresponding to the title, maintenance records, etc., ALL in very good condition.
* All interior buttons, knobs, stalks and switches are present
* All safety and convenience features are fully operational, horn, wipers, turn signals, headlights, clock, etc.
* Heat, defrost and fan speed settings operates properly
* Glove box opens and closes properly
* Gauges and monitoring lights operate properly
* Emergency brake holds firmly
* Tires are approx. 50% tread remaining, the factory wheels have some paint fade (see pics)
* The doughnut spare needs to be replaced, and there are minor cosmetic blemishes.
At 32 model years of age, the MR2 looks and drives great! It drives tight, goes down the road straight and stops assuredly. It is a clean, classic MR2 that always garners nice compliments, and it is one that is rare to find in this condition with a documented one ownership history!
A vehicle can be restored many times, it is however, only original once. Overall, I would rate the car a good 8 out of 10.

I am confident that the MR2 could be driven home safely to anywhere in America.
If you choose to fly in and drive home I will gladly pick you up from the S.W. International Airport in Ft. Myers, or the regional airport in Punta Gorda.
Shipping and or delivery is the sole responsibility of the buyer. I will gladly assist to coordinate with your chosen shipper.
I own a single auto transport. (Hodges Hauler) It is presently with me in S.W. Florida. I will deliver the MR2 anywhere in the lower 48 states for $1000.00. (non-negotiable)
I have set a reasonable and fair reserve for the MR2. It is commensurate with the condition of the car, the ownership history and the extremely low miles. DO NOT ask me what the reserve is, as I will not disclose it. Bid what you can afford and are willing to pay for the very nice condition, one owner 1987 TOYOTA MR2 5 speed that you see before you.

** Given the age of the MR2, by bidding, you acknowledge your understanding that the car is being sold in "as is" condition, with no expressed, written or otherwise implied warranties.
** A $1000.00 initial payment is due and payable within 24 hours of auction close VIA PayPal. NO EXCEPTIONS.
** The balance is to then be paid within 7 days thereafter, under condition and arrangement made between myself and the buyer. The balance is to be paid VIA a legitimate bank to bank wire transfer, as it provides a documented record of the transaction for both parties. I DO NOT accept PayPal for the entire purchase amount only the initial $1000.00 payment.
If you are to arrive to transport/trailer the car for yourself, I will accept cash in person provided that it is picked up within the 7 days of auction close window.
** I require that the winning bidder contact me by phone within 24 hours of auction close to discuss arrangements regarding balance payment and intentions for delivery/pick up.
The MR2 and title to the car will not be released until payment in full has been received. Upon receipt of payment in full, I will overnight VIA FEDEX the title and bill of sale to the new owner.
If you are to fly in and drive home, or arrive to trailer the car yourself, I will offer the option of hand delivering these documents to you upon your arrival.
Buyers from the U.S., Canada, the UK, Europe, Russia, Australia, and New Zealand are welcome and encouraged to bid with confidence. If the car is sold to an international buyer, I am available with my transporter to deliver the car to the appropriate port for reasonable expenses.

These first gen MR2's are a blast to drive and highly desirable. The origami design still looks great and remember, these were made in Japan, and infinitely better than when manufacturing came stateside.
