Built for almost a quarter century as a one design utility vehicle the Land Cruiser or FJ40 is as popular now as it was then and vice-versa. It was launched in 1960 to compete with the Jeep as a tough four-wheel drive. It is slightly larger and quite arguably better built. When introduced it had one wheelbase with only a two-door being offered. Throughout the years a variety of wheel-bases and bodys were offered but never veering from its four-wheel utility roots. A variety of engines were... offered from 4-cylinder diesels to inline 6- cylinder petrol. This particular freshly restored FJ was built with a early body and a 1976 drivetrain with the upgraded 4-speed manual transmission. The body and paint are very good as are the mechanicals and electrical. There are a few things that could be done if wanted or drive as is. These 40's are becoming not only expensive to buy but also expensive to restore as parts have gone up. This is a fantastic rig that starts runs shifts and goes down the road as it should.
