1988 Toyota Camry LE Description
We are selling our 1988 Toyota Camry that we purchased used from the Toyota Dealer in Daytona Beach, Florida, May of 1992. Yes, we have owned our 1988 Camry for more than 25 years and the Camry has been amazing. The Camry was built in Japan in January of 1988. It had 72,700 miles in 1992 and now it has 267,850 miles. Both our children rode in the back in a car seat as babies and my son still drives it locally to his part time job.
We lived in Titusville, Florida and Wildwood, Florida until 2004 then we moved to Pittsburgh, PA. Our 1988 Toyota Camry family car moved with us. The Camry still has a valid Pennsylvania state inspection stickers for mechanical and exempt emissions until 01/31/2018. The Camry will still pass PA inspection mechanical and is now exempt for emissions. In 2014, replaced transmission with used one that had only 156,000 miles with rebuilt C/V shafts. 2015 rack and pinion shaft was replaced with a used one that had only 110,000 miles. It is on it's forth timing belt. The 2.0 liter engine which is 16 value overhead head camshaft is very reliable and fuel economical for 80's technology. It get 25 city and 35 highway. It has been a very dependable car for 25 years but now a classic car 30 years old it is time to sell it. Selling as a project car for restoration. Can deliver the Camry for a fee of 50 cents per mile anywhere in the USA or Canada. I have 10 years experience as a commercial driver in Auto Drive Away and also experience in car and truck exporting. For restoration the Camry will need. 1. engine overhaul 2. There are two vintage Camry's in the same salvage yard that I have taken parts off to keep our 1988 Camry going. Please look at the that last 3 photos. Photos 1 to 6 are current. Photos # 7 and 8 were taken in 2016 and show alloy wheels that will be sold separately. Photo # 9 was taken of the Camry in 2010 and that year I drove it to Florida. I know it has the potential to be restored. Photos # 10, 11 and 12 were taken at our local salvage yard as example photos to show that vintage Camry car parts are available and not that expensive.
