1977 Toyota Pickup SR5 Description

This 41 year old Toyota Hilux Pickup Truck is in excellent mechanical & cosmetic shape.
It runs and drives almost like new with less than 120k original miles.
It was originally imported from Japan to Long Beach, CA and is still equipped with all of its CA emissions equipment.
It has been gone through from stem to stern by Toyota professionals.
Compression check shows 150 PSI in all 4 cylinders.
Recent valve cover gasket replacement and valve adjustment shows a pristine valve train with a tight double row timing chain with all metal guides.
New NGK spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor with unique adjustable thumb turn timing adjustment from outside the distributor which is very cool and unique.
New oil filter and motor oil with absolutely no leaks. Radiator flushed with new thermostat and absolutely no coolant leaks. Temp gauge never goes past 1/3rd.
New/Rebuilt '77 CA spec Aisin carburetor bought from Carburetor Exchange in LA was just professionally installed with new gaskets along with new fuel filter.
Stainless steel headers with a nice thick flange were installed so all the exhaust back to front is brand new all the way to the exhaust tip, including a new Cal Spec Catalytic converter and muffler.
New gear oil in rear differential and transmission.
New brake parts on all 4 corners plus new master cylinder. Stops on a dime.
4 new shocks. New inner & outer tie rod ends, new center link, new pitman arm, new idler arm. Handles great.
All the lights, signals and everything in the interior works as it should except the old Craig aftermarket stereo deck and the wipers as the wiper motor is missing but the wiper transmission is all there. The motors sell for $30 on eBay but it rains so little here that I just use Rain X.
The heat blows hot. I added a simple on/off diversion valve near the driver side firewall so that you can keep the hot fluids out of the core in the cab in the summer or switch it to on for heat in the winter. This truck was not AC equipped but Vintage Air sells a complete kit that can be added for around $950.
When I acquired the truck the stock automatic transmission shifted fine but had no reverse so it was removed and replaced with a brand new flywheel, new clutch disc, new pressure plate, new throwout bearing, new pilot bearing, new clutch master cylinder, new clutch slave cylinder and new clutch pedal assembly along with a great used 4 speed manual transmission from a 1986 pickup (which was the last year they made the 4 speed manual). Shifts smooth and concise in every gear and is a joy to drive.
Of course the truck come with the receipts for all these new parts and labor.
The stock wheels were 14 inch but one of the original hard to find hup caps was missing so I replaced the 4 wheels with 17 inch Toyota Matrix rims with good used rubber. Turns out 17's are much easier to find nowadays and the look is a nice retro mod making it look lower to the ground because the wheel wells are filled.
This truck came from Los Angeles to Tucson so there is absolutely no rust or cancer on the frame or bed whatsoever beyond a typical thin desert layer of surface rust. There were 2 small spots of minor exterior body rust which I had professionally cut out by master metal fabricator Marco Chavez who carefully welded in new identical gauge steel piece then ground down the welds and added only the barest skim coat of filler shown in pics forward of the lower doors. There are 2 small spots of rust on each inner fender under the hood about the size of a quarter that I just left alone because you have to look hard to find them.
The paint is all original with a patina that only car show producers dream of! Just look at it. It almost looks like it's liquid wet in some spots but rest assured it's all bone desert dry.
Since these pics were taken I found some paint fairly close to the original color, primed those fixed spots plus the front valance and painted.
I absolutely love this truck as does my crew but I've got an acre full of them and things have to go so my loss is your gain.
Of course a clean, notarized AZ title comes with it.

A very similar truck just sold for $4,050 here on eBay but it was not as nice as this one IMO:
