1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 Description

This 1972 FJ40Land Cruiser was originally red in color, sanded and coated with a Urethane white and grey primer with a final coat of urethane matte red to handle the rugged road ahead. I purchased this Landcruiser from another gentleman that was moving to California who had found it in Florida from some previous owners from Colorado. His dream to restore changed due to work relocation.

Mechanically, this FJ is solid. The only leak appears to be from the manual steering gear box and a little from the front of the oil pan. The tub would need some work at a later time (but which FJ40 don't need rust repair). The areas of concern are the rockers, the bed, rear quarter panels, and the bib. You can see it in the restoration video. I did some cosmetic repairs when I got back. That is why the rear quarter panels have new paint that does not exactly match. Included is a Raptor liner kit cause my plan was to paint the rear quarter panels black with the raptor lining like the lower half of the FJ40. I feel it is strong foundation to do whatever you dream your FJ40 to be.

I modified the swing arms in the back with zerk fittings as well to prevent the swing arms from seizing up like they did when I got to Uruguay.

If I forgot anything I will keep updating and add info that interested buyers bring up.

Over $19,000 dollars of parts, mods, and replacements not include all the paid labor and my labor, blood, sweat, and tears I put into her. I have some documentation covering most of the expenses and the additional labor cost for certain items.

Go ANYWHERE in the WORLD! Pure Simple Utility 4x4 off-road vehicle!

Proven and well capable since I made it down to the Southern Tip of South America.

You can restore it again. If not you can use it for trail riding, daily driving, or whatever you dream of. It just has to go to an owner that will use it.

Everyone asks why get rid of it? I am starting a new restoration project for a different adventure and I can’t have two projects. I can't take it with me. I can't leave it behind cause I have no where to leave it. The times I have left it behind no one takes care of it like I do so better off going to a new owner that will give it the TLC to keep it alive. If not I would keep it.

These cars will go forever they sure are not built like this anymore. I chose this vehicle because it was simple and mechanical and I was able to do all the maintenance myself on the road. I saw many on my journey in far far far worst conditions than I see for sale in the USA and they are still running and working hard as daily drivers.

If you need a shipper, another seller recommended summitautotransport.com You can get a quote on their home page and they usually get back to you in 24 hours. You can also use Uship.com

For sale locally and got offers on the road but all buyers are directed here to bid on eBay.

Let me know if you have any questions and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
