1988 Toyota Land Cruiser Description

Great condition for the year and location. Bought from a guy in Kentucky in 2015, garage kept since until now. Live in an apartment now so no garage to keep it. I’d rather it go to someone who can protect it from the elements and keep it rust-free.

Guy in Kentucky bought it from a rebuilder in Texas the year prior. Rebuilt stock engine put in then. Less than 10,000 miles on the rebuilt one. Transmission rebuilt in 2016, less than 5,000 miles on that.

Modern LED headlamps, very effective.

Interior panels and upholstery are in great shape for the age. 4wd works great. Aftermarket radio is adequate. Power antenna works. Larger tires and wheels in great shape, low age, low miles, spare included. Rear bumper and ends in great shape. Nearly rust free specimen all over. Some paint blemishes throughout, nothing major. Solid steel all over, no indications of a bondo-botch. Underside is remarkably clean. A/C doesn’t blow cold. Maybe just a recharge? I dunno for sure.

I absolutely love this thing, but was forced to relocate from Illinois over a year ago. It spent the winter in Wisconsin in my parents’ garage. I couldn’t monopolize their garage any longer and drove it back to me in Minnesota now. I don’t want it to rot in the parking lot here and don’t have a garage in which to store it. I would love to use it to excursion camp or similar but just don’t have the time or resources. My loss will be your gain.

Some staining on the upholstery is visible, but great shape for the age. Carpets are great as well, except the rear cargo area carpet isn't the best and is covered with an egg-crate material to protect it from further age. Panels are straight, the hood has some dings on the front of it. Some panels appear to come from different donor vehicles as colors aren't the best at matching and gaps aren't superb. Chrome trims are in okay condition but some are bent, some dinged, some missing. ARB front bumper is in good overall condition. Electrics all work, LED headlamps are awesome!
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I tried to be as accurate and descriptive as possible. I will miss this guy for sure. Thank you for looking! Good Luck!

I have some service history from the previous Kentucky owner and a bit from me. Anything before that is best-guess.

For clarification: The rebuilt engine is stock or OEM-TYPE, and it is NOT the original block.
