1988 Toyota Camry 4cyl wagon
1988 Toyota Camry Description
1988 Camry 4cyl Wagon low milage survivor. Starts every time, engine runs smoothly, drive anywhere, drives smooth at 65+ mph highway speeds. Transmission shifts normally, power brakes and steering in good condition. Suspension age is unknown, ride is ok. No exhuast leaks. Mechanically in good condition, car was regularly maintained and cherished by the previous owner, tires are newer. 2 timing belt sticker records present under hood, appears last done 6/2008 @ 98,278 miles. Engine shows no or little signs of leakage!!, so I would assume front seals have been done atleast once, see pictures of engine underside. New scion CD player installed. I changed the engine oil at approx 127,500 miles. Interior is in good condition, has original floor mats still, drivers worn. Heat and Air conditioning work. Automatic seat belts are in working condition. Rear hatch power lock is working. Has manual windows, mirrors and door locks. Does not have 3rd row seat. Car has not been detailed, former owner had a long haired dog, I have done my best to remove all dog hair. PA inspection expires 2/2019.Car is driven every few days, milage may change. Car has alot of life left in it and has much more utility than a sedan.
In past 4 months I've driven it 800-1000 miles, I repeat, this is a 30 year old, unrestored/affordable classic Toyota, every effort has been made to describe all known faults....these are the known issues I have found:
Blower resistor low speed is burnt out, other 3 settings work fine. needs new resistor.Rear hatch falls down, needs 2 rear hatch struts or a broom stick.Right side headlamp assembly develops condensation. These are high quality glass lens units which can be disassembled and resealed.Missing 1 wheel trim ring LRA new set of struts would make it ride like a cadillac.Windshield has a chip by safety stickersPlastic cover to access 3rd brake light bulb is missing.Rear hatch lock cylinder doesn't work. (Has a seperate electric switch to lock/unlock on dashboard which is working)***NOTE: left side black lower rocker molding is GONE, fell off apparently. appears to be present in first picture, later left side picture shows it gone. this was brought to my attention. Sorry for any confusion.Lastly, has an aftermarket cruise control set up... I'm not a big fan of these, I did not test it's operation. It can easily be disconnected from the throttle if desired. I left it alone because someone may enjoy it's use in the future.
