1984 Toyota Land Cruiser Description

Up for sale:1984 Toyota FJ43 with a rebuilt original 2F engine. This was the last production year of the FJ43 and this one is equipped with power steering. Restoration work was completed in Arizona and Southern California and the owner has all the associated paperwork. It comes with a custom hardtop, new Old Man Emu suspension, new BF Goodrich tires, safari rack with tools, bull bar with winch, and a rear bumper with fuel carrier. This FJ will ship from Louisiana with a clean clear title in the seller’s name. VIN is FJ43113488 as eBay doesn't recognize it do to it being an import.

Exterior: Outside the sand dune beige repaint shows well. The exterior was stripped and painted new. There is some minor rust on the right-hand door and the rear entry from the weather. There are some minor paint blistering / rust bubbles present on the exterior doors. Any surface rust present is from CA / LA weather and not salt road exposure.

Interior: The rear ambulance doors swing open to reveal an appropriate lack of amenities. Inside, all seating surfaces are new. A new electrical control center was added, and Rhino lining was applied throughout the interior floor surface. The rear cargo area holds two full-length bench jump seats that fold up to create more carrying space if needed. The interior was left mostly original and overall gives the appearance of new-old, nothing seems overdone or overstated. The A/C is installed but currently does not work. A new unit will cost 1200 plus installation or the existing until it can be repaired.

Maintenance: The vehicle has A/C but will need a new unit to make it operational. Most recent maintenance completed was an oil change and a new radiator. The seller has records since 2015. The odometer is in KPH, but included is a new Dakota digital instrument display panel in MPH. The car starts and runs well with the original 2F engine that was rebuilt at 110k miles.

Investment: The market on the FJ’s has seen great returns over the last several years. Some premier examples selling for well over $100k and very good examples over $80k. This one is well positioned in the Mid 20’s given it is of high quality but not trying to be a trailer queen. It’s a high-quality driver that has a solid engine and should provide a new owner with many years of enjoyment.
