The original Toyota floor mat is still in the vehicle. It has some wear on it but it is there. just shows you how much was left alone and not gommed up with some frankenstein motor transplant and junk aftermarket bs.

There is a bit of damage on the drivers side. I have no clue what caused it but the metal is all there and is not rusted. It is an easy fix, a fender and some body work and it should be good to go. The cab has some small damage.


I am selling this to buy my grandparents estate. I bought this Cruiser from the son of the original owner. They bought it in Denver new in 1974 from Novak-Ford in Denver. The decal is still on the vehicle. The vehicle spent its entire life in Colorado until spring of 2014. It was originally used elk hunting in Beuna Vista by the owner and his son and then they moved to Cortez, Colorado Where I found the vehicle and bought it. It was transported to Missoula, Montana spring of 2014. Since I have owned it I have fixed these things, I have some receipts.I mainly used this as a hunting vehicle. I drove it time to time to keep things going. It has maybe 7000 miles a year on it since I bought it.

I have some extra Carburetor linkage as well, that is very hard to find. I bought extra when mine failed.

The only things I think it should have done it a carb rebuild. The factory Carb is still on the vehicle and I just cant keep it due to my grandparents estate needing to be settled. IT runs fine but will have a bit of sputter at high speed. Master Tech. In Missoula told me, I have a receipt that says the feul level is visibly high in the bowl. May need float, needle/seat or other parts. I have extra parts for the vehicle. I have an extra stainless brake line. I have a brand new Clutch, in the box from Spectre Off-Road. I have a new front bumper and tag bracket as well.
This is truly one of the most origina, most rust free cruisers I could find. I have owned two fzj80s, one fj60 and this is my second fj40. If I had to start a restoration, this is the one. first year of the four-speed and the desirable 74 1F( supposed to have a oil sump pump to keep the motor lubricated). this is the original engine, and transmission that came with the vehicle in 1974.It's uncommon. it is 05-99 pct rust free and if there is cancer in it I have yet to find it. Tires are about half worn, I have a spare to go on the spare rim on the back but I haven't out it on yet.
