1981 Toyota Corolla Description

This is a great little barn find. It is in as found condition. Not completely rust free but as rust free as you're going to find one of these that has been driven. Story was that it belonged to an elderly couple who, after their passing, transferred ownership to the young lady i bought it from. The older couple used it to run errands around town which is why the mileage is so low. The seats suffered as you can see in the pictures but the brake pedal shows wear as you'd expect for this mileage so I'm going to say that I believe the mileage to be fairly accurate. I'm toying with the idea of restoring it myself but Toyotas aren't my main interest and someone with more expertise and access to parts can do this really nice car better justice. Carpet is ok but new molded carpet is only around $100. A dash cover is just under $100. Seat covers, non OEM, are around $250. The transmission is shifting funny but the fluid is dirty and low, this may be causing the problem. Worst case, used transmissions can be bought for around $250 on www.car-part.com The motor oil, likewise is dirty. Engine is a little noisy but sm Optus out as it warms up. I would do the normal work on an old car like this, go through the brakes, change fluids, replace wear items like belts, hoses, etc. The usual.
Clear coat is gone over most of the car. There are no body dents that I can find although it looks as though the driver front fender has been off. There is a slight crease in the hood as well as some hail damage which can be taken out with dentless paint removal. The roof rack is pretty cool and in good shape. Glass is good. I've taken pictures of the worst rust areas. It started raining on me while taking pictures so I didn't get much underneath the car but it is remarkably rust free and I will get those and add them or will provide them to you if you want to see. GREAT STARTING POINT FOR A RESTORATION.
I added several pictures of the underside of this car. I could not get a picture of the whole bottom but the ones I took should give you an idea of how rust free this car is.

Robert 828 two three one - four zero one nine. I have only driven this car in my driveway so don't have a ton of information about that. The car was just so clean, I couldn't leave it to be destroyed by someone without the money to maintain it properly. Sort of looks like that had happened a little already which explains the fluids. Inspections welcome, shipping is yours, I will help as I can.
