1983 Toyota Pickup Description

This is / was my project truck that i pretty much picked up off the street where it was sitting. Replaced so many items on this girl. The engine is fantastic "the imperial 22R", tires are new, brakes, shocks, lines, battery, fuel pump, full interior (minus dash), stereo, all new glass, full tuneup, ect... - I have hit an obstacle and it has not passed SMOG twice. The NOX is 1500 and its PNO so i cant take it out for a 20 mile hot ride to clear out the engine. The carb was rebuilt 3 years ago by MIDAS and it sat for 2 years so it may be clogged jets or a few other things that a real smart tech would know. Not me! Its not a race car by any means but it is "Way cool!" and feels like a go cart when driving it around. 1983 was a good year (I was 5). I spent far more than i wanted to to get her to this point but i am deploying with the Army (37F) in 6 months for a year so i am going to see if it will be worth letting go. When downshifting from 4th to 3rd there is slight grind so i just double clutch and avoid that. The pictures pretty much tell all the story. I want to keep it but its grinding me as i also need to fix my 1990 Chris craft 18' bowrider.......ugh the pain. A little bit of rust in the door jams which i attempted to clean up and fill but everything else is solid. The odometer stopped some day before me...the last digit rolls but thats it. Last number on the odo was 75,599.4 - see youtube link below. ** The last 2 buyers were international and both flaked. Gas costs are going up and this can be picked up locally and driven with no mechanical issue or shipped by way of open carrier which costs about 35-50 cents a mile. If the truck doesnt sell this go-round then im keeping it and getting it smogged and it will stay with me till the end. Its an awesome truck and super nostalgic.

*** Sorry to announce that i have to leave early for pre delpoyment training at NTC (Army 37F). I will leave the listing up for 1 last month. If someone wants to buy now or make an offer, please do! If nothing happens then thats ok and when i return i will paint, smog, fix and keep. Thanks - Sean
