1985 Toyota Land Cruiser Description
About us: We are a licensed California auto dealer, we sell specialty vehicles. We build and sell trucks, Jeeps, anything fun! www.theautolocators.com
This is a two owner Desert Tan FJ60 Land Cruiser with a 2F motor and 4 speed manual transmission. California owned almost zero corrosion. Only corrosion remains on passenger front inside door jamb, has mild corrosion, otherwise it is pristine.
We acquired this vehicle from the second owner who owned it since approx 2014, and only put about 5,000 miles in 5 years. The second owner only used it flat tow behind his small motor-home for weekend excursions in the local desert. He was adamant he never did any heavy or difficult off-roading, only fire roads and paved trails.
The second owner bought the FJ60 from the original owner who was super particular about maintenance and service. This is probably one of the most well documented vehicles we have ever seen. We have a steno note pad with notes since new owner documenting every 20w50 Castrol oil change, every tire rotation, every service ever performed and documented in great detail. All the fluids were regular serviced, the Catalytic converter and muffler were changed out, along with all vacuum lines and suspension bushings. We have a trunk full of extra new OEM Toyota parts. Some of which are obsolete, as well as an extra carburetor. We have the original 2F Engine Repair Manual Aug 1980, Electrical Wiring Diagram, 1983, 2F Emission control manual, Maintenance procedures 1984 Models, Land Cruiser Repair Manual Chassis and Body Publication 1980, Original 1985 Land Cruiser Owners manual gasoline and diesel engine, Land Cruiser Repair manual All Season Type Air Conditioning System.
We took the FJ up to the local mountains in January here in Southern California to try it out on snowy trail roads. She did great, 4L is amazing! We have some pics of the adventure. I myself own a 1965 FJ40 so I appreciate and understand how difficult it is to find a quality FJ60. We ran this vehicle through our shop and performed some service. We installed LED headlights, we have installed 100s of these in our Jeep builds and they are quality, the do not flicker, great lumens for visibility. As you know the factory lights are paltry at illumination. We took the roof rack off and had it sand blasted and black hammer-tone powder-coated. We also removed some of the old style off-road lights and re-wired with new small profile LED off-road lights. All new spark plugs properly gaped at .031, new cap, new rotor, new fuel filter, new air filter. We just installed all new matching BFG 33x12.50x15 AT K02 tires. The BFG tires that we replaced were like new but cracked from sitting. The snorkel is purely visual is it not functional nor was the passenger fender cut/notched for it.
