1970 Toyota Land Cruiser SUV Base Sport Utility 2-Door Description

1970 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ 40 in outstanding original condition. We are the 2nd owners of this vehicle. One of the most coveted years of the FJ40s with the classic round bezel and Factory Coronado Beige Paint color. Factory Inline 6 cylinder, 3.9L, 1F engine with it's factory 3 speed on-the-column transmission. Meticulously maintained. Recent full tune up included oil/filter, antifreeze, spark plugs and wires, and Heavy Duty Les Schwab Battery. Runs and drives excellent. New brakes, master, lines and shoes all the way around. New clutch master and slave cylinder, and new exhaust muffler and tailpipe.Also has a 110V engine block warmer installed. Weber Carburetor with automatic choke. Only E0 (Ethanol-Free) premium gasoline has ever been used in this engine and it purrs. 4 new Heavy Duty shocks. Warn locking hubs, four wheel drive, 2 speed transfer case (both High and Low) work perfectly. Brand new BF Goodrich 31X10.5" Mud Terrain Radial (KM3's) tires on all 5 Toyota original wheels and factory hubcaps (spare too) with less than 50 miles on them.Body is uncut, unmolested and original. Still has it's original paint (never been repainted) Toyota # T451 Coronado Beige. There is zero rust, anywhere. Every factory spot weld is visible, and the entire vehicle has 4 fresh coats of wax on it. It has the factory undercoating which has preserved the undercarriage perfectly. Front HFS (Hell For Stout) bumper holds the very rare Model 8000 vintage Heavy Duty Warn winch (dated 10/15/1970) and vintage fog lights. All in excellent condition. We removed the manual brake control handle, clutch control knob and switch control handle and installed an 8274 control box so it can be operated inside and outside of the vehicle (comes with remote). Comes with a tow bar that attaches to the front front bumper as well, (see picture). Stock rear bumperettes and 2" receiver with the old school 5 prong round light adapter also installed. Comes with a Haul-Master receiver tow hook with it's original box (see picture).
Interior is in excellent condition. Original seats (front and back) have no rips or tears in them. Comes with a set of SOR (Spector Off Road) "Tuff Duck" front seat covers. These retail for $260 and slip over the seats to protect them. Front Driver's seat is adjustable, and rear seats have their straps that hold them up when not in use. All seats have their original working seat belts. Factory lockable tool box under the driver's seat includes Factory Jack in it's holder, Factory jack-rods and handle, tire iron/hubcap remover, and tool kit, Tool kit includes: Toyota bag, Toyota Motor Co. Lug Wrench, Toyota Motor Co. Spark-Plug Wrench, Toyota Motor Co. Open-end Wrenches sizes 17, 14, 12, 10, and 8.Toyota Crescent Wrench and pliers, Flathead/Phillips reversible screwdriver, jack wrench handle and bar. (See Picture). The headliner and visors are excellent ( no rips or tears). Original factory front floor mat is like new. (Rear mat is excellent as well). All gauges, lights, heater, fan, rear heater, defrost, wipers, windshield washer squirter, horn, interior lights, (dual, both sides) lighter, seat belts, windows, doors and locks work as they should. Switches for the fog lights and off-road lights are nicely mounted in the factory holes in the dash. The factory emergency glove box light is in the glove box and has the original emergency light plug-in. All seals for the top, doors and windshield are in excellent shape.
The Con-Ferr style roof/safari rack holds 4 off-road halogen navigator lights, (hard covers included), ax, shovel and Hi-Lift jack. All gutter mounts and hardware are stainless steel so they won't rust. It is easily removed with 6 nuts and by unplugging the lights. The top comes off with 24 bolts (see pictures). Side doors are removable as well. Windshield folds down and hooks to the hood (see pic).
Current Oregon Pacific Wonderland plates will go with the vehicle to an Oregon buyer. Vehicle is currently licensed through August 3, 2020. Comes with the original 1970 Toyota Owner's Service Manual, 1977 Haynes Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 Owner's workshop repair manual, and a Chilton's Engine Repair and Tune-Up Guide for 1966-1974 Landcruisers (see picture).
