Originally from New Mexico, it has only seen the snow twice (before the plows came out) just to play with the 4x4.I've never taken it off the road otherwise.
I use this car almost daily so mileage will continue to rise.Especially in this warm weather and my kid enjoys going for rides sitting in the back. It's definitely different than most convertibles out there.I drive it locally and on 300+ mile round trips without concern. I'm confident this could drive coast to coast and back.
I'm only selling to invest money into business. I'm not in the business of selling vehicles. Thousands invested into this recently. It is 32 years old. Reliable and strong. It runs and drives great, but if you're expecting it to drive like a modern car, you'll be disappointed. It drives and handles like an older style truck. The aggressive, oversized tires don't help for quietness or comfort on pavement. I'd prefer the smaller stock size as I only drive it on the road, but like the look of the bigger wheels. Suspension is tight. It does have independent front suspension with torsion bars and the rest leaf springs are still 'smiling'.
I have yet to see another on the road in my area. Most vehicles of this age have completely rotted out in my area. All 4x4 enthusiasts are intrigued when they see this. Most others are interested in the removable top. In the rare case I see an old full size blazer or bronco, they never have the top off. Toyota, however, encouraged it by installing a factory roll bar.
Also worth noting is the rear seats fold flat. Excellent for additional cargo or camping out in. Tent on wheels. Softtopper sells a rear screen window to go with this top.
I welcome any interested persons to view in person and test drive.Of coarse, questions are welcome as well, through ebay. The vehicle is located in Waterford N.Y.
