1969 TOYOTA LANDCRUISER FJ40 THE GOODS: THE THEME OF THIS LANDCRUISER IS DEPENDABLE DRIVER. THIS IS A NICELY RESTORED FJ BUT NOT A FRAME OFF RESTORATION. IT LOOKS NICE INSIDE, OUTSIDE AND UNDRNEATH. ALL MECHANICAL, WIRING HAVE BEEN REBUILT OR RESTORED TO GOOD CONDITION. THE ENGINE HAS BEEN NICELY CONVERTED TO A 1993 CHEVY4.3 V6 WITH ORIGINAL MULTIPORT FUEL INJECTION. THE RADIATOR IS A NEW ALUMINUM SEVERE DUTY WITH MECHANICAL FAN CLUTCH AND COOL CUSTOM FAN SHROUD. THE TRANSMISSION IS A GM 4L60 OVERDRIVE AUTOMATIC WITH A SEVERE DUTY REMOTE COOLER. THE 4.3 WITH OVERDIVE AUTO IS THE PERFECT COMBINATION OF POWER AND MILAGE FOR THIS FJ. THE STEERING GEAR IS A TOYOTA PICKUP POWER UNIT. THE BRAKES ARE ALL ORIGINAL DRUM WITH NEW EVERYTHING AND CHEVY TRUCK POWER BOOSTER AND CORVETTE DUAL MASTERCYLINDER. ALL FABRICTION IS PROFESSIONALLY DONE, LOOKS AND WORKS GREAT. THE UPHOLSTRY IS NEWER, THE HEADLINER IS NEW. THE FLOORBOARD HAVE BEEN COATED WITH SPRAY IN BED LINER AND TOPPED WITH DIAMOND RUBBER MATTS. THE WEATHER STRIPS AND GLASS RUNS ARE ALL NEW. THE CUSTOM REAR MOUNTED SPARE TIRE AND GAS CAN RACK OPENS FROM EITHER SIDE AND WORKS GREAT. THE CUSTOM ALUMINUM DIAMOND PLATE WRAP IS COATED WITH SMOOTH TEXURE SPRAY ON BED LINER AND REALLY GIVES TOUGH DEMENSION THE LOOK OF THIS COOL FJ. THE REAR FENDER FLARES ARE BUSHWACKERS. THE LEAFSPRING ARE NEW SOFT RIDES WITH HEAVY DUTY OFF ROAD SHOCKS. THE SHACKLES ARE HEAVY DUTY RIDE LEVELING WITH URATHANE BUSHINGS. THE TIRES ARE NEW ALL TERRAIN 33 X 12.50 ON BLACK STEEL SPOKE RIMS. A HEAVY DUTY ADDITIONAL STEERING STABILIZER HAS BEEN ADDED. ALL MECHANICAL, BEARINGS HUBS ETC. HAS BEEN INSPECTED AND REBUILT AS NEEDED.AFTERMARKET OIL PRESSURE, VOLTAGE AND TEMPERTURE GAUGES HAVE BEEN ADDED. WE ADDED A NEW 9000LB FRONT MOUNTED WINCH. WE ALSO ADDED FRONT AND REAR OFFROAD AUXILLARY LIGHTS. A 4 WAY FLAT TRAILER WIRING CONNECTOR HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE REAR. THE WIRING IS NOT NEW BUT COMPLETELY UPDATED AND REPAIRDED PROPERLY, NO BUTT CONNECTORS, ALL HEAT SHRINK AND SOLDERED CONNECTIONS. EVERYTHING IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND READY TO GO ON OR OFFROADING. THIS FJ40 WILL GET YOU LOTS OF LOOKS, QUESTIONS AND COMPLIMENTS EVERYWHERE YOU GO, IT'S FUN TO DRIVE. THE BADS: I BOUGHT THIS FJ40 FROM A FRIEND IN MONTANA. IT WAS PAINTED WHEN I PURCHASED IT. THE PAINT IS SHINY AND NICE BUT THEY COULD HAVE SPENT MORE TIME FEATHERING OUT THE OLD PAINT AND PREPING. IT HAS ALOT OF FLAWS IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY. I REPLACED THE DOOR PINS AND BUSHINGS AND HAD ALOT OF TOUCH UPS AROUND THE HINGES ALSO THE DASH SWITCHES. THERE WAS SOME SURFACE RUST BUBBLES WHERE THE FLOOR SUPPORTS MEET THE LT & RT QUARTER PANELS. IT WAS COSMETIC AND I TOOK CARE OF IT BEFORE INSTALLING THE DIAMOND PLATE WRAP. THERE IS ALSO A SMALL SECTION UNDER THE LT & RT STEP PADS THAT HAS BEEN CUT OUT AND NEW PIECES WELDED IN. IT IS DONE WELL AND YOU CAN'T EVEN TELL IT WAS EVER THERE. THE FACTORY GAUGES ARE HOOKED UP BUT ARE COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE. THATS WHY WE INSTALLED THE MECHANICAL AFTERMARKET GAUGE POD. THE GAS GAUGE HAS BEEN WORKING AT TIMES AND THEN DROPING TO ZERO, I AM SURE IT NEEDS A NEW FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT. THE MILAGE ON THE ODOMETER 43,701 MAY OR MAY NOT BE ORGINAL MILAGE. I JUST DON'T KNOW. NOW THAT I HAVE GIVEN YOU FULL DISCLOUSER LET ME SAY THAT THIS IS FJ40 IS A SOLID DRIVER THAT RUNS OUT AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS. BID WITH CONFIENDENCE.
