1971 Toyota Land Cruiser Description
1971 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 series with all body parts taken apart, sand blasted and immediately primed for better rust protection (primed, sealed and painted with PPG quality paint), in fact ¾ of the body is new due that the original one was not worthy to repair. The whole frame was sand blasted and immediately primed and painted with Professional black color to give it a nice finish. Undercarriage was completely black rubberized undercoated to prevent even more rust issues. Inside has our already trade mark tinted liner in order to give this vehicle excellent noise insulation and rust prevention.
Bolts, washers and nuts were replaced for full threatened Stainless Steel, and all those other pieces that we did not replace for stainless steel were restored, plated or painted as needed. The chassis has a complete new Old Man Emu suspension including new shocks, leaf springs, hangers, shackles, steering stabilizer and tie rod ends.
All factory seats were completely reupholstered trying to match OEM color and appearance. The only difference to OEM is that we updated with also upholstery on the rear metal covers of the front seats. We believe it gives the vehicle a nice finish and style.
The engine: This is the great factory 6 cylinders Toyota F generation engine completely restored (not rebuilt) changing all the seals, gaskets and fluids preventing future leaks; it runs like a champ. A lot of new parts and accessories including new gas hoses, gas filter, gas pump, oil sending unit, oil filter and also K&N air filter. New spark plugs and wires, new red top Optima battery, OEM PCV valve and grommet, starter, alternator, and more.
The cooling system: Completely taken apart and cleaned out. New antifreeze, new water pump, thermostat and gasket all OEM, new sending unit, new stainless steel clamps all the way around, new radiator and hoses installed.
Transmission completely inspected and topped off with new fluids as well as transfer, case and both restored with new seals and gaskets. This vehicle has the factory 3 speed on the tree tranny with factory transfer case.
All brake system was improved with new rotors, calipers, pads and rear Disc Brakes as well. New lines, new Brake master cylinder, front Knuckles completely rebuilt with new bearing, seals and gaskets. All clutch system with new disc, pressure plate, throughout bearing, pilot bearing, reground flywheel, new clutch master cylinder, new slave cylinder and OEM hoses.
Inside:
The original wiring harness was cleaned out and reused keeping all original connections. Some new dash parts replaced as cigarette lighter among others. Seats with improved upholstery and completely restored. New OEM emblems, OEM pedal pads, hood rest pads, new battery tray and battery.
It has factory wheels and hub caps with brand new BF Goodrich A/T tires, 33x10.50 R15 size.
