Nice 1966 Toyota LAND CRUISER Base 3.9L FJ40
1966 Toyota Land Cruiser Description
Non 0riginal in many ways - it can be anything you want it to be.
Odometer reads 46,750 but there's no way that I have to know the actual milage. The odometer does work as does the speedometer.
Has newer 4" suspension, newer model hard top (still removable of course). Floor shift conversion 3speed in excellent used condition and new clutch. I bought the cruiser pretty much as it is over ten years ago. It had the top, the roll bar, the shifter, and the HF 9000 lb. winch.
Later 'F' engine with two barrel Aisin carb. Newer valve job. All new brake shoes and master cylinder. Truck runs great with compression at 165 psi, all cylinders. Starts easily hot or cold, never overheats, never skips a beat.
There is a Lockright locker (commonly known as an Aussie locker) installed in the rear differential. It works well and makes the characteristic and normal intermittent noises that all of them do but it gives increased traction when needed. The original differential parts are included so that a new owner can remove the locker if he or she desires.
Body and undercarriage in great shape with almost no rusting. There are small bubbles at the left rear corner (shown) that are the only sign of any sheet metal issue. The undercarriage shows only light 'surface' rusting as shown. This is a very tight and reliable FJ40. No door/window rattles, few interior noises, and none of the 'loosey-goosey' feeling that comes of so many years. A simple capable 50 year old truck.
The paint is best called a "15 Feet" paintjob. There are flaws, touchups, faded areas, and assorted glitches but the overall appearance looks good despite all that.
The interior is very nice overall. It had new OEM seat covers and not long afterthat a trouble light stayed too long on the driver side and made the odd melt shown in a photo. It doesn't effect anything except the look.No floorboard rust through. The front floor was treated to a product called "Hippoliner" that could be color matched and added traction and good looks.Sharp-eyed viewers may notice that the hood hold-downs have changed from silver to red colored. One of the aftermarket silver ones broke so I put the OEM red ones back .
To be sold as-is and without warranty. What you see is what you'll get. I have a Flickr folder with more photos that I can email. Dunno why it can't be linked within this listing.
Initial deposit will be non-refundable and buyer will be responsible for arrangement of any shipment required. I can hold for two weeks after payment in full has been received. This Land cruiser is titled in Washington state and title is unencumbered.
I look forward to a fast and smooth transaction and will do what's needed to assure it for both of us.
