Texas Classic Cars Of Dallas is proud to showcase this 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser "FJ62". This is avery niceoriginal vehicle. The pain, mileage and interior are all original to this well preserved FJ.
Toyota continually made minor improvements from year to year in the 60 series and there are too manyminor improvementsand differences between FJ60s and FJ62s to list. Therefore, it is most helpful to focus on themajor differences betweenthe two.
Toyota started selling the FJ62 in the U.S. in 1988 with the 3FE model engine. The 3FE gets slightly better MPGsthan the2F from the FJ60 because it is lighter and has electronic fuel injection (EFI). The 3FE also hasslightly morehorsepowerand torque compared to the 2F, although the torque peaks at higher RPMs.
The FJ62 came with a 4-speed automatic transmission as opposed to the 4-speed manual offered in the FJ60. Appearance-wise, the interior was redesigned in the FJ62 and Toyota opted for four rectangular headlightsinsteadof tworound headlights.
Unless you are obsessed with details, these are really the main decision points in the FJ60 vs FJ62 debate: manual vs automatic transmission, EFI vs carburetor, and round vs square headlights. Of course, you always modify eitherone toyour liking.
The original paint shows well, but it does have it's minor flaws. There are some surface scratches, some minor chips, and somefading on the roof. Overall, it is in good shape. Also you can see there are some dentsin the frontand rear bumpers.
The engine compartment is in excellent condition. Very detailed and again, original.
The 89,970 miles are said to be original, and we have no reason to believe they are not. ThisToyota is in excellent condition.
The original interior is in excellent condition.
We would like to thank the Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight for their unique location used at many of our photo shoots.Be sure to visit this historical museum if you find yourself in the Dallas, Texas area.Texas Classic Cars of Dallas' showroom is located only minutes away.
The undercarriage is original and not detailed. We want you to see the FJ for what it is, a very solid original vehicle.
