1985 Toyota Celica GTS Convertible - NO RESERVE
1985 Toyota Celica Description
*Note - Sorry, this car can't be sold to anyone in California*
* NO RESERVE * NO RESERVE *
1985 Toyota Celica GTS convertible.
Selling an original unrestored survivor, from 1985 which has been in my basement long enough.
Cruise your hometown in a rare drop top, that always turns heads and is often mistaken for an exotic European vehicle.
This is a somewhat rare car, as approximately 4,500 coupes were converted to convertibles by Toyota in Los Angeles, California.
Even better is that the car is the more desirable black color with a five speed manual transmission.
The car will also come with two rare items:
*The parade boot, which covers the top when it is retracted (which I have not tried to use, so condition is unknown)
*The only aftermarket turbo unit designed specifically for this car
Currently, this turbo kit is not installed on the vehicle. It was the first thing I took off the vehicle, after I purchased it. It appears that most of the parts for the kit, were on the car. You will receive everything that was removed. I will not guarantee the condition of any of the parts. The original turbo unit was blown when I acquired the car and have since sourced another one made by the same company. Condition unknown.
There is a photo of the turbo unit when it was installed on the vehicle.
The unit was made by Warner/ Ishi
*Original paint
*22 RE enginen
*Five speed manual transmission
*Four wheel disc brakes
*Fender flares
*Six alloy wheels - Four of them on the car, one in the trunk and one extra
*Specially designed Recaro style front bucket seats
*Air-conditioning ( only turn it on once and it seemed to work but will not guarantee it's working condition )
*Cruise control (never tried to use it, condition unknown)
*Power windows
*Power locks (not working)
*Retractable front headlights
*Aftermarket AM FM CD player
*New exhaust system
*After market rear trunk spoiler with brake light
*Convertible top in very good condition with a glass back window
*Hydraulics for convertible top still in working condition
* original toyota shop manuals
The paint is amazingly bright and shiny, but thin in a few places.
This car appears to be rust free.
The interior can use a bit of work, as the front seats are worn out.
Also, the rug is in need of replacement.
The car leaks oil, as well as an issue with the O2 sensor trouble codeOtherwise it runs and shifts
This car will not be sold in California due to high emissions standards that this vehicle probably will not pass, because of O2 sensor issue.
The car will also come with an extra set of door panels, passenger and driver side mirrors, used radio bezel, spare alloy wheel and the turbo unit described above.
I am not a mechanic and tried to describe the car as best I can.
This car will be sold as is. No return or refund.
A car in this condition for its age and with all the extra bits and pieces, would be hard to find.
Car is located in San Francisco Bay area.
