This is an absolutely gorgeous 1971 Toyota Corona Mark II Wagon. There has been only ONE OWNER since new, and this Corona has 13,423 ORIGINAL MILES. This Wagon is equipped with factory air conditioning, which works great. These cars are now quite rare, and this Corona may be one of the nicest with the lowest mileage in existence. We have the original PA title that was issued on 11-17-1971. This Corona is not just a pretty face. This Wagon runs and drives extremely well. Although it wouldn't be my first choice for a cross country drive, I wouldn't hesitate to trust this Corona to safely and comfortably take one of my kids anywhere. The condition of this car as seen in the photos below is the way we received it, but here's the story that was told to me as I understand it: The original owner passed away in the seventies, and his family kept this car tucked away for 30+ years before parting with it. This Corona was then purchased by a Toyota Dealership, with the intention of showcasing it as a Halo vehicle alongside a few other vintage Toyotas on their showroom floor. Although it was still in great relative condition, they freshened it up before putting it out on display. The paint was faded so they had the body completely stripped, refinished, and every piece of the factory original trim was reinstalled. They also had all seats fully reupholstered which was all completed around 2007. Otherwise, this car is completely original except for some maintenance items including the exhaust muffler/pipes, tires and some wear items. A few years later, the Toyota Dealership moved and was forced to downsize which required selling their vintage Toyota collection. We acquired this car in July 2014 and kept this Corona on our showroom floor as a conversation piece as well. I can tell you that this car garnished lots of attention and was a conversation starter a thousand times over. We sold that location a few months ago and now its time for this beautiful Toyota to grace some else's showroom, or collection, or garage. The spare tire under the back is the original and has never touched the road. It is not dry rotted, and still has factory air in it from 1971. All of the body and interior trim is original, and this car has not sustained and accident or body damage in its lifetime. We have the original jack, and the service tool kit which is fastened to the floor beneath the driver seat. The owners manual is in the glovebox. We presently have the one and only original title from 1971 which we can provide (as seen in the photos below) if you wish to maintain complete originality. If you wish to resell or register this car, we will transfer this title to a new PA title first - your choice. The 1900cc engine runs excellent. It starts easily, and idles and runs very smoothly. The automatic transmission shifts nicely. A complete matching set of tires were installed on this car a few years ago, and the brake pads are all in excellent condition as well. The oil & filters were just replaced. Everything in this Corona has been checked and tested, and everything is working including the air conditioning. The exterior of this Toyota is in fabulous condition. The Capri Blue finish is super glossy over the entire body with nothing more than a few minor imperfections. All of the exterior trim on this car is intact, tight and in excellent condition. Both of the bumpers are in excellent condition. There aren’t any cracks or chips on any of the exterior lights, lenses or glass. There isn't any body rust and the undercarriage is also very solid and clean, as seen in the photos below. The interior of this Corona is in equally fantastic condition. All of the seats are in perfect condition. Some of the incidental plastic trim pieces in the rear area are cracked but still intact. The dash and all door panels arecompletely intact and in excellent condition. They arenot cracked or split or damaged. The steering wheel is perfect including the factory original scrollwork. This was a non smoker owned vehicle, and there aren’t any burn marks or odors of any kind inside this car.The original lighter has never been used and is working, and the ashtray looks like it has never been opened. This is a rare car that is very suitable for a collection or for show, but it's also a vehicle that I wouldn't hesitate to jump in and drive anywhere. This Corona Mark II is certainly one of the finest examples in existence, with possibly the lowest mileage and best provenance. I can’t imagine that this Corona will last long, so feel free to call anytime if you're interested. |
