1978 Triumph TR-7 FHC with Ford 302 V-8, drive train, and more
1978 Triumph TR-7 Description
This BritishClassic needs a new home with a enthusiast who values all the work put into it butalso wants to have some fun making it even better. It is substantially gone through. I have a HUGE amount of time/money in this car but am going VW. Got it from my step-fathers estate, towed it across the country, finally got it fixed up but other projects beckon.....Current title (La) shows '78 but previous (Wash) showed '76, I believe it's really a '76.A very tidy install of Ford 302 (rebuilt at install), C-4 trans (rebuilt 5-17), and 8" rear end, only 1160 mi. on the conversion as far as I know. Custom radiator with dual electric fans. Dual exhaust with a very nice rumble!
Good things:Edelbrock ManifoldHolley 550Pointless ignitionNew front brake padsNew urethane subframe and suspension bushingsNew competion springsNew anti-dive modificationNew 225/45ZR16 tires and alloy wheelsNew fuel senderNew electric fuel pump installed at tankNew headlight relays and switchStereo with electric antenna, not connectedRear spoilerRear battery installation with remote battery switch on rear bulkhead behind passenger seatNew air filter assemblyNew valve coversNew radiator catch tankComes with manual and a few spare partsHood scoopAll lights workInterior is in surprisingly good condition for a 40 year old car!Balance of the car is not as bad as you would expect. With 100 lb of bags or ballast in the trunk and both seats filled, weight distribution is only about 54% nose heavy....yes, I weighed it.
The not so good:Could use paint but it's not so bad that it has to be painted. Depends on you. I was going to spray it in flat or satin blue like a rat rodThe spare tire well is rusted through at the front, otherwise, not muchIt could use a front spoiler. I cut off the valance because it was bent. I couldn't find a spoiler/air dam I liked in the USA, so you can choose!
The odometer reads 1160.2. I got it with 500 miles on it. I believe the conversion was done and the odometer zero'd or bought new at that time. The 80000 miles listed is just a guess. Many of the mileage sensitive parts on this car have been replaced
I have a rebuilt spare 302 block, heads, used pump/pickup, and used cam that I will sell separately if wanted.Car can certainly be driven home but it's loud and windy.......
Please ask your questions before bidding. I will answer everything I can
