1974 Triumph TR-6 Convertible - manual - 65,000 original miles REDUCED LAST TIME
1974 Triumph TR-6 Convertible Description
YOU ARE LOOKING AT A 1974 TR6 ORIGINALLY FROM CALIFORNIA, THIS IS NOT A SHOW CAR BUT A DAILY DRIVER. THIS IS THE CAR TO DRIVE AND ENJOY AND RESTORE TO PRISTINE CONDITION LATER IT COULD BE BROUGHT UP WITH MINIMAL WORK. THE DRIVE TRAIN IS SOLID BEING A LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE AND IS A BLAST TO DRIVE. GOOD OIL PRESSURE, COOL TEMPERATURE, AND PROPER CHARGING. IT RECENTLY HAD HEAD WORK BECAUSE THE PREVIOUS OWNER DROVE THE CAR WITH THE CARBS FLOODING ENGINE CAUSING A TON OF CARBON BUILD UP, THE CARBS WERE REBUILT AND CLEANED, NEW PLUGS, OIL AND FILTER. THE CAR NOW RUNS GREAT AND PLUGS ARE ALL BURNING PROPERLY. IT DOES IDLE A LITTLE ROUGH BUT DOES NOT STALL AND NEEDS A FINE CARB OR CHOKE ADJUSTMENT. THE PAINT JOB (MACCO) IS A 10 FOOTER AND WAS PAINTED ON A MINIMUM RUST CAR (I WAS TOLD BY PREVIOUS OWNER OF 20 YEARS). IT HAS LOTS OF CHIPS, A FEW DINGS, POOR MASKING, AND A FEW PAINT RUNS AS EXPECTED AND A QUARTER SIZED BUBBLING ON LEFT LOWER DOOR. I ALSO NOTICED A LITTLE BODY PUTTY DUE TO A CRACK ON FRONT LOWER VALANCE WHERE THE PREVIOUS OWNER SAID A DENT WAS FILLED. THE TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH ARE TIGHT AND EVERYTHING ON THE CAR WORKS EXCEPT FOR HORN. AN UPGRADED WOOD STEERING WHEEL WAS INSTALLED AND HORN WAS NOT HOOKED UP. STERING WHEEL HAS A LITTLE UP AND DOWN PLAY IN THE COLUMN. THE INTERIOR HAS NEW SEAT COVERS AND CARPET. DOOR PANELS ARE AS SEEN AVERAGE CONDITION. THERE ARE ALSO THE EXPECTED TIGHT WINDOW REGULATOR FROM SITTING AND IM SURE OTHER SMALL THINGS LIKE VISOR RUBBERS UGLY SEATBELTS ETC. THE GAUGES ARE ORIGINAL SMITHS AND YES THEY ALL WORK. IT HAS NEW UPGRADED EMPI WHEELS AND PIRELLI TIRES. THE CAR RUNS STRONG WITH NO WEIRD NOISES OR SMOKING. THE CHROME HAS SOME PITTING BUT IS STRAIGHT AND COMPLETE. THE CAR WAS KEPT IN THE GARAGE FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS AND HARDLY EVER USED. THE CAR WAS ORIGINALLY FROM CALIFORNIA HENCE THE MINIMAL RUST. ONE SMALL AREA ON DRIVERS SIDE FLOOR IS A LITTLE THIN BUT NO RUST HOLES. THE BOOT ON TOP HAS A QUARTER SIZED HALF MOON PIECE MISSING ON EDGE (LOOKS LIKE A MOUSE ATE IT). IT HAS AN AFTERMARKET ROLL BAR INSTALLED AND OLDER AFTER MARKET RADIO, OTHER THAN THAT AND WHEELS CAR SEAMS ORIGINAL. THE EXHAUST SEAMS FINE AND I HAVEN'T NOTICED ANY OIL LEAKS IN DRIVEWAY BUT IT HAS SOME SEEPAGE IN USUAL AREAS. IT HAS ORIGINAL TONNEAU COVER BUT WONT FIT WITH THE ROLL BAR. ROLL BAR NEEDS TO BE REMOVED IN MY OPINION TO ALLOW MORE ROOM IN DRIVERS SEAT.
PLEASE LOOK AT PICTURES CAREFULLY AND YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO COME INSPECT THE VEHICLE BEFORE PURCHASE. I AM RETIRED SO I CAN SHOW CAR ANYTIME. THE CARBS DO NEED A FINE TUNING FOR SMOOTHER IDLE AND CHOKE CABLE MAY BE THE PROBLEM. BUT THE CAR IS FULLY DRIVEABLE AS IT IS, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION PLEASE DON'T HESITATE. I HAVE CLEAR TITLE IN HAND AND CAR IS ADVERTISED LOCALLY AND COULD BE SOLD AT ANYTIME.
NO SHIPPING BUT I WILL HELP LOAD CAR WITH YOUR SHIPPER. I WANT A 500 DOLLAR PAY PAL DEPOSIT AND BALANCE IN CASH OR CLEARED PAYMENT BEFORE PICKUP. I WANT CAR THE PICKED UP WITHIN A WEEK. CAR IS SOLD "AS IS' WHERE IS.
