Triumph TR-7 Drop Head
1979 Triumph Other TR-7 Description
1979 Triumph TR-7 Drop Head
You are bidding on a mostly stock 1979 Triumph TR-7 roadster with 85,500 actual miles that is in great drivable shape. I have owned this car for 14 years and it has been my baby. Love driving it. However, it's time to let it go as age and health has caught up with me.
The car had been in storage for approximately 10 years before being purchased by a fellow who gave it a lot of TLC and spent over $8,000 to have a reputable garage perform the work. I have all the receipts.
The list of new parts: duel weber carburetors, convertible top, 4 gas shocks, 4 tire and front-end alignment, starter, alternator, coil, clutch master cylinder, spin-on oil filter, floor mats, front disc brake pads and rotors, rear brake shoes, catalytic converter with complete stainless steel exhaust, tie rod ends, electric engine cooling fan, thermostat, hoses, radiator cap, sparkplug wires, fuel sending unit, upper and lower rear suspension bushings, suspension bumpers, head gasket, head bolts, front wheel bearing, battery, headlight switch.
The head was removed, shaved slightly, as it was not warped and reinstalled with new head bolts. Compression was 145 lbs in all 4 cylinders. The valves were adjusted also.
The car is rust free. The paint appears to be original with the type of defects you would expect on a 38 year old car. However, you can see from the pix that it still looks nice. There are no cracks in the dash. All the glass is good. The back-up lights, interior lights, and windshield wipers work. The seats are good and have been recovered. The radio was replaced with a stereo radio/CD player with new speakers in the doors. The clock does not work, but a new one is included.
The car never sat outside! It has always been garaged with a cover. It's my baby, you know. The cover is included.
I also have some spare parts that will be included. This is not a show car...it's a daily driver.
Terms: The car is offered 'as is, where is' no warranty expressed or implied. I accept cash, or verifiable cashier's check.
The car is located in North Fort Myers, Florida.
