1956 Triumph TR-3 Description

Back story: Created by Californian, Bill Devin, in 1956. Early cars were molded from an Ermini 375 Sport. It closely resembled the Ferrari Monza 750 built by Scagletti. Early Devin ads referred to the fiberglass kits as "Devin Monza". I clearly recall these kits advertised in 1950's car magazines for $295. Teenage dreams.

Purchased 2/05 sight unseen from Wisconsin seller. Car arrived needing everything. Bought replacement for rusted-out frame and powder coated it. Bought replacement TR3 engine and Alderman Machine built a race-ready engine. Brakes rebuilt by White Post. Moss headers coated by Jet Hot. Fuel cell by ATX.

At the time of purchase, the object was to vintage race. As years passed, enthusiasm for that enterprise cooled.

Interestingly, Automobile Magazine, in its August 2017 issue, features a story on the Devin C which contains a rich history of the 1955 company founded in California by Bill Devin.
