1980 Triumph Spitfire 1500 Description

This is a very solid rust free 1980 spitfire with selected modifications for comfort and reliability.

Pointless ignition, alternator, Webber carburetor (done right with headers and fuel pressure regulator), Mazda Miata seats with built in speakers (I have the original seat frames if wanted), oil pressure gauge, phone charger, Kenwood HD stereo.

New parts include; rebuilt front end, brake master cylinder, rear brakes including slave cylinders and hoses, tires, good quality paint on a bare metal rust free body (needs to be buffed out) exhaust system, weather stripping., heater control, battery, windshield washer pump….etc, etc, etc.

The bad….it has developed a loud engine knock at idle (may be a rod) which goes away when driving, needs a clutch and/or new syncro’, needs a front alignment (has not been redone after I rebuilt the front end), the top has the typical rips by the rear window….the previous owner replaced the rubber bumpers with older ones that have fair chrome at best.

I was rebuilding this to be a fun reliable weekend driver but just don’t have the facility to rebuild the engine.
