1966 Triumph TR4A IRS IRS, OD GEARBOX, WIRES Description

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this running TR4A IRS Convertible. This car was originally delivered by the factory in handsome Triumph Racing Green with Black interior, wire wheels, and still retains it's original engine and desirable 4-speed Overdrive gearbox. The car's VIN number has an "O" suffix, proving this was an original factory built Overdrive car. This car was just purchased out of the garage from it's long term owner since 1974 in the state of Illinois. At one point in it's life, this car received a repaint in it's current dark blue. The engine compartment still retains it's original green paintwork, and appears totally original and completely untouched. To preserve this area, it could just receive a detail and re-touch in some spots, if one decided to return the car back to BRG.The bodywork on the car appears decent. The panels open and shut fine. Underneath, the chassis appears very solid, especially around the trailing arm legs which are vulnerable to rust on these cars. The car's drivetrain oil has preserved/protected a lot of the underside floors, but the car could use new inner/outer sills and some front floor repair. The trunk floor looks excellent. The car's interior also looks amazingly original, still retaining it's original leather seats, carpets, panel kit, steering wheel - all testament to the car's believable low miles. The front bumper needs straightening, the windshield has a crack, but the grille is excellent.Mechanically, the engine started easily with a fresh battery and fuel. It runs well with great oil pressure (80lbs cold), zero smoke, and no noises. Please see the video. I'm sure it's going to need a fuel system clean out and fresh hydraulics to drive. The car retains it's original VIN plate, body tag, correctly sequenced engine and IL title from 1974 !Overall, a desirable 4A IRS Overdrive/wire wheel car with believed low miles, originally finished in attractive Triumph Racing Green with Black trim.
